Monthly Archives: May 2018

May 25, 2018 – Volume 27.20 – PEAK SEASON IS HERE!

Starting Friday, May 25th, we will be going into PEAK season, so it will be very important to ask your guests “What day will you be visiting the park?” for all ONE DAY DISNEY AND UNIVERSAL SALES.  Disney will be in PEAK season from 5/25 – 5/31, and then drop back down to REGULAR season from 6/1 – 6/24.  Universal will be in ANYTIME season starting 5/25 and will continue through the entire summer through 8/5.

SEA WORLD “FLASH SALE” STARTING FRIDAY MAY 25TH THROUGH SUNDAY JUNE 3RD

Sea World is having a FLASH SALE on their tickets over the next week.  They will be offering Single day Sea World tickets for $45 + tax & fees, SW/AQ Combos for $55 + tax & fees, & 3 Park Combos for $65 + tax & fees.  All of these tickets will ONLY be available online and not at the gate.  We ARE going to offer them, but we are including the $6 fee which is the online fee they charge on the Sea World website.  The offer runs from May 25th – June 3rd.  After that we will be reverting back to the normal pricing and commissions.  Here are some key points about this sale:  1)  It is for FLORIDA RESIDENTS ONLY.   When the guests go online to purchase the tickets, they must put in a Florida Zip Code that matches the billing address of the credit card.  Anyone without a credit card that has a Florida Zip Code will not be able to get this offer.  This includes all foreigners.  They may request Photo IDs at the gate, so make sure if you do this sale that they have a Florida ID available.  2)  Tickets must be purchased 7 (SEVEN) days in advance.  This is a KEY POINT!!!!!  So if you have a Florida Resident that comes up to you over the weekend and mentions that they want this offer to go the same day, THEY WON’T BE ABLE TO DO IT!  If they purchase them Saturday, 5/26, they won’t be able to use them until the FOLLOWING Saturday, 6/2.  3)  All tickets must be used by July 1st.

Your commission on these tickets is only $1.20.  So we would like you to try to talk your guests into the 2 Park Ticket Special with All Day Dining.   Sea World has lowered OUR COST on these tickets, so even if you discount them down to $128 including taxes, your commission will be $5 per tickets as opposed to $1.20 for the Flash Sale tickets.

Sea World’s summer spectacular “Electric Ocean” starts TODAY and extends through September 2nd.  It will be on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays through the month of June and the first weekend in August, Saturdays and Sundays for the remainder of August, and EVERYDAY DURING THE MONTH OF JULY through the 29th.  There are a LOT of great summer shows, including the all new “Touch the Sky” at the Dolphin Theater, “Sea Lions Tonight”, “Pop”, “Club Sea Glow”, “Shamu’s Celebration:  Light Up the Night”, and the grande finale – “Ignite”, the laser light and fireworks show.  Also, BEER IS BACK!  All park guests 21 years old and up are invited to the 2 free 7 ounce beers at Mama’s Pretzel Kitchen from 10:30 am until 1 hour before the park closes.  Also, the park will be having a “Happy Hour” from 4 pm – 8 pm where guests can get Buy One Get One Free offers on all drinks and food items at Flamecraft Bar and Sharks Underwater Grill Bar.  Additionally, guests buying a Sea World Pin Trading PIn during Happy Hour will receive a Free Lanyard!  Also, stay tuned for the Grand Opening of Infinity Falls which will be happening towards the end of the summer.  There will be a Perks event on Friday, June 8th to experience “Electric Ocean”.  You must go to www.hospitalityperks.com to register for this event.   Check in is from 5 pm – 7:30 pm.  For those of you that were hired AFTER the enrollment ended, you will be submitted to attend for this event as well but you won’t be able to enroll online.

DISNEY WATER PARK – PEAK SEASON

Effective Saturday, 5/26 through 8/26, Disney is in PEAK season for the Water Parks.  This means you need to CHARGE FOR AND PRINT the higher priced tickets (the ones that are NOT seasonal and do NOT have Block Outs).  This will be very important so that you do not inconvenience the guests and have them stopped at the gates and have to pay an additional fee.

KENNEDY SPACE CENTER INCENTIVE

Everyone is doing a great job with KSC sales!  Keep it up!  Remember, the top sales person from May 1st – June 30th will receive:  A 2 night stay at the Country Inn & Suites in Cape Canaveral, Gift certificate to Fishlips Restaurant in Port Canaveral, 2 tickets to the Brevard Zoo, and 2 gift certificates for the Victory Casino Cruise Ship.  This certificate includes boarding, dining, and $10 in slot play (must be 18 years of age to sail and gamble, 21 y/o to drink).  AGS must have a minimum of a 5% increase in order for the prize to be awarded.  Keep selling those KSC tickets!

GATORLAND HOSPITALITY MONTH – 6 DAYS LEFT!

Don’t forget to take advantage of Hospitality Month at Gatorland!  You and a guest can visit for free until May 31st.  You must show proof of employment to enter – a paycheck stub and your nametag.

LEGOLAND

Gang, don’t forget that for a ONE DAY ticket sale, Legoland gives you the MOST commission!  Make sure you are suggesting this to your guests.  Our sales are down from last year, so we want to get them back up.  If you’re not familiar with the rides and shows there, make sure you pull the “Official Guide to Awesome” out of the brochure rack and brush up on the park.  Remember, the water park is open DAILY from now through the end of the summer and they must have admission to the park as well to get into the water park.  If your guest does not have the water park as part of their admission, they can pay $22.50 + tax to upgrade.

EMPLOYEE REFERRAL INCENTIVE

We are still looking to add some GREAT people to the AGS Team for our busy summer season! If you know anyone that has an outgoing personality, loves the theme parks, is dependable and can work anytime (including nights and weekends), please encourage them to apply. Here is the link that you can give them to fill out our online application: http://attractions-lodging-leisureinc.appone.com/.   If they are hired by the May 31st and they stay with us for a minimum of 90 days, you will receive a $100 Visa Gift Card!  And if they stay with us for at least 6 months, you will get an ADDITIONAL $200 Visa card!

ORLANDO CITY SOCCER SALES

There is a HOME MATCH this Saturday, 5/26 at 7:30 pm against the Chicago Fire.  We can sell any of the upper areas of Orlando City Stadium, as well as the AGS Company tickets which are in the lower bowl corner, Section 1.  We have 12 company seats in that section.  All of the leads have received instructions on how to book tickets, so if you have a guest interested, please call them first.  Before calling them, make sure the guest has a SMART PHONE AND AN E-MAIL ADDRESS.  Orlando City is paperless and ALL tickets have to be presented on a phone.  If you work off of Activity Link or ITicketPOS, all tickets are loaded in the system.  If you work on the Premier Team and use RezGo, you MUST COLLECT CASH that comes to the AGS office and the sale will NOT be put into the POS system.  For those of you on Premier, please make sure you call your Team Manager or Lead for further assistance.

May 11, 2018 – Volume 27.18 – MANAGEMENT CHANGES – PROMOTIONS

Goodbye Cindy! Cindy has decided to leave the tourism business and she’s taken a position in Restaurant Management. We wish her the best in her new endeavor! Robert Moreno has been promoted to the new position of Supervisor. Although initially he will be concentrating on the Gifting Team, eventually we want him to be a floater where he can assist any one on any team. Mainly his position will be a bridge to help the staff when the leads may be too busy with guests of their own to assist them. Melissa has been promoted to a Gifting Lead. George is no longer with AGS.

ASK THE AGES OF THE CHILDREN

It is very important when selling tickets that you ask the ages of the children in the party.  Last week, we had to refund a ticket for a guest that was sold a ticket for a 2 year old, and the ticket was already scanned at the gate so we had to charge back the employee for not asking.  Be very careful about this.

READ THE TICKETS OUT LOUD TO THE GUEST AS YOU HAND THEM OVER

Again, to avoid errors, it is very important that you read EACH ticket out loud to the guest as you hand them over.  This is a last check to make sure they are getting the correct ticket.  This is especially important for the non-integrated tickets like Universal and Legoland, but it should be done with all tickets.  This only takes a minute so it’s worth the time to make sure you don’t get a chargeback for an error that could have been corrected.

CHECK THE CALENDARS BEFORE PRINTING ONE DAY DISNEY – UNIVERSAL

As always, before quoting prices, charging for and printing ALL ONE DAY DISNEY AND UNIVERSAL TICKETS, please be sure to check the calendars.  Again, during most of May, Disney is in REGULAR season Monday – Friday, and PEAK Saturday and Sunday.  Universal is in VALUE season Monday – Friday and ANYTIME Saturday and Sunday.  The exceptions start on May 25th.

EMPLOYEE NOTES:

Please welcome Kailoni Powell, Martin Flores, Jan Dimova and Saidumar Umarov to the AGS Team!  Happy Birthday to Jon G. on 5/13, Diana R. on 5/21, and Luis T. on  5/18!  Congrats to Omar R. for 1 Year on 5/15, Maikel B. for 2 Years on 5/19, Maria P. for 1 Year on 5/22,  and Ana Maria for 16 Years on 5/15!

May 4, 2018 – Volume 27.17 – BE CAREFUL WITH SEASONAL PRICING

There are a lot of changes with the pricing in 1 Day Disney and Universal tickets during the month of May. Most weekends for Disney will be PEAK and for Universal will be ANYTIME, with REGULAR for Disney and VALUE for Universal being Monday – Friday.  The only exception is the last weekend in May (Memorial Day week) which will be PEAK for Disney and ANYTIME for Universal.  Be sure to ask your guests “What day will you be visiting the park?” before selling any ONE DAY Disney or Universal tickets. Because all of the Universal tickets will be activated in Instant Ticket Wizard, be careful when choosing the tickets to print as well. As always, READ THE TICKETS OUT LOUD TO YOUR GUESTS AS YOU PASS THEM OVER. This is your last chance to catch any mistakes you may have made in printing the tickets. You can return the tickets at that time and print the correct ones.

FAST & FURIOUS SUPERCHARGED

The new attraction at Universal “Fast & Furious Supercharged” is now open!  For all of you who went through the FIRST training sessions at Blue Man Group, you should have been e-mailed a ticket to see it on either May 21 or May 22 without waiting in lines.  This is not an event, but just an opportunity to see the attraction so you can better sell it.  This is for you only and no guests are allowed.  Unfortunately if you did not attend these training sessions, you will not get an invite at this time.

SEA WORLD SALES – DISCOVERY COVE

Again, Sea World parks should be mentioned to every guest.  Sea World is one of the most FAMILY FRIENDLY parks in Orlando, with something for everyone.  There are great attractions for the kids including animal interactions, entertaining shows for the adults and whole family, and thrilling rides like Manta, Mako, Kraken Unleashed, Journey to Atlantis, Wild Arctic and Antarctica.  Keep out the AGS Dining Guide and always try to get them to upgrade to add the All Day Dining to the parks that they choose.  Remember, if you have guests that are on a budget or only here for a short time, suggest the Discovery Cove ONLY special that continues through May 25th.  This a great price for Discovery Cove, but does NOT include Sea World and Aquatica like the regular Discovery Cove admission.

BE THE HOTEL AMBASSADOR!

We have found that the employees who greet guests in the lobby and breakfast areas and pass out materials to the guests consistently have the best sales.  So when you don’t have anyone at your desk, get out in the lobby, smile, introduce yourself as the Concierge and greet the guests!  This is how you will make MORE MONEY – trust us!

DEPOSIT ENVELOPES

For those of you on the Non-Premier teams, please make sure every deposit envelope has these 4 lines on the outside of the envelope:  1)  HOTEL; 2)  YOUR NAME; 3)  DATE; and 4)  SHIFT (am, pm or both if you work a double).  When listing the hotel, please be specific because we have many of the same hotel names.

NEW LEGOLAND TICKETING SYSTEM

Legoland is targeting May 15th to introduce a new ticket system.  It is fairly simple and we will be having webinars in the near future for the leads to learn it, and training guides for the rest of you.  As the time gets closer, we will give you more details.

VICTORY CASINO CRUISES – NON-SMOKING DATES

Victory has announced that they will have 2 dates in June strictly for Non-Smokers.  The dates are Wednesday, June 6th and Wednesday, June 27th.  Both the Morning and the Evening cruises on these two dates will be non-smoking.

GATORLAND – FREE ADMISSION FOR YOU AND A GUEST!

Don’t forget that May is Hospitality Appreciation Month at Gatorland.  You and a guest are invited FREE.  Just present the flyer (that you may need to get from your Lead or Team Manager) and a recent check stub to receive these admissions.  Take advantage of this opportunity, especially if you’ve never been to Gatorland before!

DESK CLEANLINESS

Let’s all do our part and keep our desks clean, neat and organized.  It’s everyone’s responsibility to make sure the desk is clean and neat when you close up.  If you are coming for one day to cover a day off for someone that normally works a location, please do your part to keep the desk clean and neat, but do not throw away or re-organize any of the other person’s belongings.  Just leave it as is, but make sure it’s clean.  Thank you!
