March 4, 2016 – Volume 26.09 – DISNEY TICKET UPDATE

Disney TicketsWe know that many of you are confused about the changes to the Disney tickets, and hopefully when you go through your training next week, it will be cleared up. Here are the most important points: 1) For all ONE DAY SALES, you must ask your guests WHAT DATE they will be visiting the park. It doesn’t matter when they’re purchased or printed; it goes by the visit date. If they are unsure, they should buy the peak visit because it will be valid ANY DATE. For the near future, the price goes to REGULAR pricing ($5 more than Value) starting Friday, March 4th – Thursday, March 10th. March 11th – April 2nd will be Peak, which is $19 more than Value for Magic Kingdom. For Non-Magic Kingdom, tickets are $17 more for Peak. Any ONE day ticket with an option also has the tiered pricing and they must pay based on the date that they will be visiting the MAJOR park. 2) All ONE day tickets that are NOT USED will expire at the end of the FOLLOWING calendar year. For instance, if a guest gets gifted a One Day Magic Kingdom on 3/11/16 and they decide not to go to the park, the ticket will expire 12/31/2017. If a guest ends up getting a lower tiered ticket and they end up going on a Peak date, they will be stopped at the turnstile and made to upgrade to the Peak price based on retail pricing, i.e. if they have a Value ticket and go on a Peak date, they will have to upgrade and pay the additional $19 + tax.  Anyone that has a PEAK ticket will be able to use in on ANY date.  3) There is NO tiered pricing on ANY multi-day ticket and the guest will be free to visit any park on any day. As usual, all days must be used within 14 days. The multi-day tickets have also had a price increase, so be aware that they are priced higher. If a guest is going to Magic Kingdom on any multi-day ticket, it will ALWAYS be cheaper for them to get the multi-day ticket, instead of individual tickets. The ONLY EXCEPTION is if a guest is doing TWO Non-Magic Kingdom parks, it will be cheaper for them to do TWO ONE DAY TICKETS instead of getting a 2 Day BASE ticket. We know this is a lot of information so please call a lead or manager if you have questions.

RENTAL CARS – TERMINATIONS
We want to remind each of you that we have ZERO tolerance for anyone not following the proper procedures for renting cars. We have shopped and fired people in the past and we will continue to do so. Dollar/Thrifty must be used FIRST. All rental cars reservations MUST be put in the POS and a voucher must be created. You must go to “Referrals – Transportation” and put in all of the information, including the guest’s name, reservation number, rental dates and price quoted. This is the only way we can make sure you get paid properly. Anyone not following these procedures or taking rental car commissions without it going through the office will be terminated.

CREDIT CARD SLIPS
We have been getting a LOT of chargebacks lately, and we are noticing that some of you aren’t writing ANYTHING on the slips. Remember, these 3 things MUST be written on each slip: 1) The quantity and types of tickets purchased (you can abbreviate); 2) The guest’s room number and 3) The ID number. This information helps us when we get a chargeback as well as if a guest calls with a question on a charge. Also, remember if you have selling to more than 4 people in a party, all members of the party MUST be in front of you. Tell them you need all of their names and they have to sign their Disney tickets.

CHECK DATES ON TICKETS
Please be sure to check the dates on your Pre-activated Hard Ticket Inventory and make sure the OLDEST dates are on top to sell FIRST. You should be doing this for Water Parks, DisneyQuest and Convention tickets. This is especially important for the Disney Convention tickets because they expire at the end of this year.

Logo_Disney-TyphoonLagoon[1]DISNEY WATER PARK TICKETS

The tickets that say “AND” are good anytime for both parks UNTIL 5/28.

PLEASE REQUEST HARD TICKETS
Many of you seem to be low on Water Park or Convention tickets. Please be sure to request these along with any supplies you need through the “Supplies Request Form” in the left column of the AGS Homepage. This should be a part of your daily routine.
