KENNEDY SPACE CENTER INCENTIVE

The top sales person from May 1st – June 30th will receive:  A 2 night stay at the Country Inn & Suites in Cape Canaveral, Gift certificate to Fishlips Restaurant in Port Canaveral, 2 tickets to the Brevard Zoo, and 2 gift certificates for the Victory Casino Cruise Ship.  This certificate includes boarding, dining, and $10 in slot play (must be 18 years of age to sail and gamble, 21 y/o to drink).  AGS must have a minimum of a 5% increase in order for the prize to be awarded.  Keep selling those KSC tickets!

TALK OF THE TOWN

We’ve seen a drop in reservations, so let’s not forget to refer to Charley’s, Johnny’s Hideaway, Moonfish, Fishbones and Vito’s Chophouse!  Be sure to show the $39 menu to your guest from the AGS Dining Guide, and give them a referral card if they choose the offer.  Book your reservation on the AGS Homepage and your guests are guaranteed a seat!

GAY WEEK

This year there are expected to be almost 180,000 people in town for this event. It’s important to know that the DoubleTree Sea World and the B Resort are considered Host Hotels for the men, and the Grand Orlando Resort Celebration is the host hotel for the women. While most events are privately ticketed events (parties, hotel pool parties, etc.), the main day to be mindful of is Saturday, June 2nd at the Magic Kingdom. Obviously Disney is not a sponsor of this event and everyone is welcome to do to Disney any day they want. But we need to be sensitive to our guests with smaller children. When selling Disney tickets this week, be sure to let your guests know – particularly families with children – that the Magic Kingdom will be EXTREMELY crowded this day. There is no need to get into any discussions about social issues or opinions. Just let them know the park will be VERY CROWDED this day and it may be more enjoyable for them to visit another day that will be less crowded. Feel free to go to www.gaydays.com or www.onemagicalweekend.com for more information.

EMPLOYEE NOTES:

Congrats to Maria A. for 13 years on 6/6, Kim F. for 5 years on 6/6, Lisette M. for 3 years on 6/8, Brandi S. for 1 year on 6/6, and Petra S. for 3 years on 6/8!  Happy Birthday to Kim F. on 6/1, Bev H. on 6/7, and Mahvash J. on 6/7!

May 25, 2018 – Volume 27.20 – PEAK SEASON IS HERE!

Starting Friday, May 25th, we will be going into PEAK season, so it will be very important to ask your guests “What day will you be visiting the park?” for all ONE DAY DISNEY AND UNIVERSAL SALES.  Disney will be in PEAK season from 5/25 – 5/31, and then drop back down to REGULAR season from 6/1 – 6/24.  Universal will be in ANYTIME season starting 5/25 and will continue through the entire summer through 8/5.

SEA WORLD “FLASH SALE” STARTING FRIDAY MAY 25TH THROUGH SUNDAY JUNE 3RD

Sea World is having a FLASH SALE on their tickets over the next week.  They will be offering Single day Sea World tickets for $45 + tax & fees, SW/AQ Combos for $55 + tax & fees, & 3 Park Combos for $65 + tax & fees.  All of these tickets will ONLY be available online and not at the gate.  We ARE going to offer them, but we are including the $6 fee which is the online fee they charge on the Sea World website.  The offer runs from May 25th – June 3rd.  After that we will be reverting back to the normal pricing and commissions.  Here are some key points about this sale:  1)  It is for FLORIDA RESIDENTS ONLY.   When the guests go online to purchase the tickets, they must put in a Florida Zip Code that matches the billing address of the credit card.  Anyone without a credit card that has a Florida Zip Code will not be able to get this offer.  This includes all foreigners.  They may request Photo IDs at the gate, so make sure if you do this sale that they have a Florida ID available.  2)  Tickets must be purchased 7 (SEVEN) days in advance.  This is a KEY POINT!!!!!  So if you have a Florida Resident that comes up to you over the weekend and mentions that they want this offer to go the same day, THEY WON’T BE ABLE TO DO IT!  If they purchase them Saturday, 5/26, they won’t be able to use them until the FOLLOWING Saturday, 6/2.  3)  All tickets must be used by July 1st.

Your commission on these tickets is only $1.20.  So we would like you to try to talk your guests into the 2 Park Ticket Special with All Day Dining.   Sea World has lowered OUR COST on these tickets, so even if you discount them down to $128 including taxes, your commission will be $5 per tickets as opposed to $1.20 for the Flash Sale tickets.

SEA WORLD / BUSCH GARDENS UPDATES

Sea World’s summer spectacular “Electric Ocean” starts TODAY and extends through September 2nd.  It will be on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays through the month of June and the first weekend in August, Saturdays and Sundays for the remainder of August, and EVERYDAY DURING THE MONTH OF JULY through the 29th.  There are a LOT of great summer shows, including the all new “Touch the Sky” at the Dolphin Theater, “Sea Lions Tonight”, “Pop”, “Club Sea Glow”, “Shamu’s Celebration:  Light Up the Night”, and the grande finale – “Ignite”, the laser light and fireworks show.  Also, BEER IS BACK!  All park guests 21 years old and up are invited to the 2 free 7 ounce beers at Mama’s Pretzel Kitchen from 10:30 am until 1 hour before the park closes.  Also, the park will be having a “Happy Hour” from 4 pm – 8 pm where guests can get Buy One Get One Free offers on all drinks and food items at Flamecraft Bar and Sharks Underwater Grill Bar.  Additionally, guests buying a Sea World Pin Trading PIn during Happy Hour will receive a Free Lanyard!  Also, stay tuned for the Grand Opening of Infinity Falls which will be happening towards the end of the summer.  There will be a Perks event on Friday, June 8th to experience “Electric Ocean”.  You must go to www.hospitalityperks.com to register for this event.   Check in is from 5 pm – 7:30 pm.  For those of you that were hired AFTER the enrollment ended, you will be submitted to attend for this event as well but you won’t be able to enroll online.

Busch Gardens Summer Nights begins TODAY, May 25th through August 5th.  Summer Nights features Party Zones with live DJ’s and dancing, and the most thrilling rides in Florida that light up the night!  Also, BEER IS BACK at Busch Gardens as well!  Guests age 21 and up and enjoy 2 complimentary 7 ounce beers at the Garden Gate Cafe each time they visit the park.

INCENTIVE – For every 10 Multi-Park ticket sales from May 28th – September 3rd, you will receive 1 raffle drawing ticket.  At the end of the incentive period, we will be doing a drawing and five people will receive a pair of Howl-O-Scream VIP admissions, the include front of the line access and dinner!  This includes:  2 Park Ticket, 3 Park Ticket, Unlimited Visit Ticket, 2 Park Ticket with 2 ADD, and 3 Park Ticket with 3 ADD.  Let’s really push to increase our Sea World Multi-Park Sales!

DISNEY WATER PARK – PEAK SEASON

Effective Saturday, 5/26 through 8/26, Disney is in PEAK season for the Water Parks.  This means you need to CHARGE FOR AND PRINT the higher priced tickets (the ones that are NOT seasonal and do NOT have Block Outs).  This will be very important so that you do not inconvenience the guests and have them stopped at the gates and have to pay an additional fee.

KENNEDY SPACE CENTER INCENTIVE

Everyone is doing a great job with KSC sales!  Keep it up!  Remember, the top sales person from May 1st – June 30th will receive:  A 2 night stay at the Country Inn & Suites in Cape Canaveral, Gift certificate to Fishlips Restaurant in Port Canaveral, 2 tickets to the Brevard Zoo, and 2 gift certificates for the Victory Casino Cruise Ship.  This certificate includes boarding, dining, and $10 in slot play (must be 18 years of age to sail and gamble, 21 y/o to drink).  AGS must have a minimum of a 5% increase in order for the prize to be awarded.  Keep selling those KSC tickets!

GATORLAND HOSPITALITY MONTH – 6 DAYS LEFT!

Don’t forget to take advantage of Hospitality Month at Gatorland!  You and a guest can visit for free until May 31st.  You must show proof of employment to enter – a paycheck stub and your nametag.

LEGOLAND

Gang, don’t forget that for a ONE DAY ticket sale, Legoland gives you the MOST commission!  Make sure you are suggesting this to your guests.  Our sales are down from last year, so we want to get them back up.  If you’re not familiar with the rides and shows there, make sure you pull the “Official Guide to Awesome” out of the brochure rack and brush up on the park.  Remember, the water park is open DAILY from now through the end of the summer and they must have admission to the park as well to get into the water park.  If your guest does not have the water park as part of their admission, they can pay $22.50 + tax to upgrade.

EMPLOYEE REFERRAL INCENTIVE

We are still looking to add some GREAT people to the AGS Team for our busy summer season! If you know anyone that has an outgoing personality, loves the theme parks, is dependable and can work anytime (including nights and weekends), please encourage them to apply. Here is the link that you can give them to fill out our online application: http://attractions-lodging-leisureinc.appone.com/.   If they are hired by the May 31st and they stay with us for a minimum of 90 days, you will receive a $100 Visa Gift Card!  And if they stay with us for at least 6 months, you will get an ADDITIONAL $200 Visa card!

ORLANDO CITY SOCCER SALES

There is a HOME MATCH this Saturday, 5/26 at 7:30 pm against the Chicago Fire.  We can sell any of the upper areas of Orlando City Stadium, as well as the AGS Company tickets which are in the lower bowl corner, Section 1.  We have 12 company seats in that section.  All of the leads have received instructions on how to book tickets, so if you have a guest interested, please call them first.  Before calling them, make sure the guest has a SMART PHONE AND AN E-MAIL ADDRESS.  Orlando City is paperless and ALL tickets have to be presented on a phone.  If you work off of Activity Link or ITicketPOS, all tickets are loaded in the system.  If you work on the Premier Team and use RezGo, you MUST COLLECT CASH that comes to the AGS office and the sale will NOT be put into the POS system.  For those of you on Premier, please make sure you call your Team Manager or Lead for further assistance.

May 11, 2018 – Volume 27.18 – MANAGEMENT CHANGES – PROMOTIONS

Goodbye Cindy! Cindy has decided to leave the tourism business and she’s taken a position in Restaurant Management. We wish her the best in her new endeavor! Robert Moreno has been promoted to the new position of Supervisor. Although initially he will be concentrating on the Gifting Team, eventually we want him to be a floater where he can assist any one on any team. Mainly his position will be a bridge to help the staff when the leads may be too busy with guests of their own to assist them. Melissa has been promoted to a Gifting Lead. George is no longer with AGS.

ASK THE AGES OF THE CHILDREN

It is very important when selling tickets that you ask the ages of the children in the party.  Last week, we had to refund a ticket for a guest that was sold a ticket for a 2 year old, and the ticket was already scanned at the gate so we had to charge back the employee for not asking.  Be very careful about this.

READ THE TICKETS OUT LOUD TO THE GUEST AS YOU HAND THEM OVER

Again, to avoid errors, it is very important that you read EACH ticket out loud to the guest as you hand them over.  This is a last check to make sure they are getting the correct ticket.  This is especially important for the non-integrated tickets like Universal and Legoland, but it should be done with all tickets.  This only takes a minute so it’s worth the time to make sure you don’t get a chargeback for an error that could have been corrected.

CHECK THE CALENDARS BEFORE PRINTING ONE DAY DISNEY – UNIVERSAL

As always, before quoting prices, charging for and printing ALL ONE DAY DISNEY AND UNIVERSAL TICKETS, please be sure to check the calendars.  Again, during most of May, Disney is in REGULAR season Monday – Friday, and PEAK Saturday and Sunday.  Universal is in VALUE season Monday – Friday and ANYTIME Saturday and Sunday.  The exceptions start on May 25th.

EMPLOYEE NOTES:

Please welcome Kailoni Powell, Martin Flores, Jan Dimova and Saidumar Umarov to the AGS Team!  Happy Birthday to Jon G. on 5/13, Diana R. on 5/21, and Luis T. on  5/18!  Congrats to Omar R. for 1 Year on 5/15, Maikel B. for 2 Years on 5/19, Maria P. for 1 Year on 5/22,  and Ana Maria for 16 Years on 5/15!

May 4, 2018 – Volume 27.17 – BE CAREFUL WITH SEASONAL PRICING

There are a lot of changes with the pricing in 1 Day Disney and Universal tickets during the month of May. Most weekends for Disney will be PEAK and for Universal will be ANYTIME, with REGULAR for Disney and VALUE for Universal being Monday – Friday.  The only exception is the last weekend in May (Memorial Day week) which will be PEAK for Disney and ANYTIME for Universal.  Be sure to ask your guests “What day will you be visiting the park?” before selling any ONE DAY Disney or Universal tickets. Because all of the Universal tickets will be activated in Instant Ticket Wizard, be careful when choosing the tickets to print as well. As always, READ THE TICKETS OUT LOUD TO YOUR GUESTS AS YOU PASS THEM OVER. This is your last chance to catch any mistakes you may have made in printing the tickets. You can return the tickets at that time and print the correct ones.

FAST & FURIOUS SUPERCHARGED

The new attraction at Universal “Fast & Furious Supercharged” is now open!  For all of you who went through the FIRST training sessions at Blue Man Group, you should have been e-mailed a ticket to see it on either May 21 or May 22 without waiting in lines.  This is not an event, but just an opportunity to see the attraction so you can better sell it.  This is for you only and no guests are allowed.  Unfortunately if you did not attend these training sessions, you will not get an invite at this time.

SEA WORLD SALES – DISCOVERY COVE

Again, Sea World parks should be mentioned to every guest.  Sea World is one of the most FAMILY FRIENDLY parks in Orlando, with something for everyone.  There are great attractions for the kids including animal interactions, entertaining shows for the adults and whole family, and thrilling rides like Manta, Mako, Kraken Unleashed, Journey to Atlantis, Wild Arctic and Antarctica.  Keep out the AGS Dining Guide and always try to get them to upgrade to add the All Day Dining to the parks that they choose.  Remember, if you have guests that are on a budget or only here for a short time, suggest the Discovery Cove ONLY special that continues through May 25th.  This a great price for Discovery Cove, but does NOT include Sea World and Aquatica like the regular Discovery Cove admission.

BE THE HOTEL AMBASSADOR!

We have found that the employees who greet guests in the lobby and breakfast areas and pass out materials to the guests consistently have the best sales.  So when you don’t have anyone at your desk, get out in the lobby, smile, introduce yourself as the Concierge and greet the guests!  This is how you will make MORE MONEY – trust us!

DEPOSIT ENVELOPES

For those of you on the Non-Premier teams, please make sure every deposit envelope has these 4 lines on the outside of the envelope:  1)  HOTEL; 2)  YOUR NAME; 3)  DATE; and 4)  SHIFT (am, pm or both if you work a double).  When listing the hotel, please be specific because we have many of the same hotel names.

NEW LEGOLAND TICKETING SYSTEM

Legoland is targeting May 15th to introduce a new ticket system.  It is fairly simple and we will be having webinars in the near future for the leads to learn it, and training guides for the rest of you.  As the time gets closer, we will give you more details.

VICTORY CASINO CRUISES – NON-SMOKING DATES

Victory has announced that they will have 2 dates in June strictly for Non-Smokers.  The dates are Wednesday, June 6th and Wednesday, June 27th.  Both the Morning and the Evening cruises on these two dates will be non-smoking.

DESK CLEANLINESS

Let’s all do our part and keep our desks clean, neat and organized.  It’s everyone’s responsibility to make sure the desk is clean and neat when you close up.  If you are coming for one day to cover a day off for someone that normally works a location, please do your part to keep the desk clean and neat, but do not throw away or re-organize any of the other person’s belongings.  Just leave it as is, but make sure it’s clean.  Thank you!

NEED HEALTH INSURANCE ENROLLMENT FORMS – NEW HIRES

For those of you who are approaching your 90 days with us, please be sure to fill out the Insurance Enrollment forms that you received at your Orientations and send them to the office.  Even if you DECLINE all coverages, we need you to check the “decline” boxes, sign and date them and get them in.  You can give them to the runners, email them or fax them to the office.

April 26, 2018 – Volume 27.16 – WORK HARD FOR SALES

For all of you to be successful over the next few weeks, you will need to focus on engaging with as many guests as possible. What does this mean? Get out from behind the desk and mingle with guests in the lobby. We want you to act as the “Hotel Ambassador”, smiling, and greeting guests in the lobby. Make sure you introduce yourself as the Concierge, and let them know you are there to assist them any questions they may have. Let them know you have restaurant specials and coupons. Offer stickers to the kids. Once you get them to the desk, use the Fun Guide to help them Vacation Plan. And don’t just focus on the major parks! Remember your 90 day goals and try to fit in as many of the smaller attractions as you can. Remember, you make more commission on many of these smaller attractions than you do on a 1 Day Disney or Universal ticket!

SEA WORLD SALES

We really need to pick up the pace on our Sea World sales.  Sea World is one of the best ONE DAY PARKS to sell because it’s got something for the entire family – four roller coasters for the thrill seekers (more than any other park in Orlando), great shows for parents and the whole family, Shamu’s Happy Harbor for the young kids, and tons of animal interaction experiences.  Plus there are a LOT of great deals on Sea World tickets, especially when adding Aquatica and Busch Gardens and All Day Dining packages.  Use the “All Day Dining” descriptions that are in the Dining Guides that we’ve provided you as a sales tool to upgrade your tickets.  The commission on Sea World tickets is some of the highest for a ONE day theme park!  Also, the Discovery Cove ONLY offer continues through May 25th.

DISNEY / UNIVERSAL CALENDARS

Please make sure you look CAREFULLY at the Disney and Universal calendars before selling and printing ONE DAY TICKETS.  Disney is going through a lot of changes:  Value:  4/27, 4/30 – 5/3; Regular:  4/28 – 4/29, 5/4, 5/7 – 5/11, 5/14 – 5/18, 5/21 – 5/24; Peak:  5/5 – 5/6, 5/12 – 5/13, 5/19 – 5/20, 5/25 – 5/31 (basically Regular Mondays – Fridays in May and Peak Saturdays and Sundays except for Memorial Day week).  REMEMBER TO ASK YOUR GUESTS “WHAT DAY WILL YOU BE VISITING THE PARK?” BEFORE QUOTING ANY PRICES, MAKING ANY SALES OR PRINTING ANY TICKETS.  Universal will basically be mirroring Disney with “Value” tickets Monday through Fridays in May, and “Anytime” tickets on Saturdays and Sundays except for Memorial Day week.

90 DAY MINIMUM PERFORMANCE STANDARDS

Some of you are really taking a negative view of the Quarterly Goals instead of embracing them and working your hardest to achieve them.  Of course you may not achieve every one of them, but we expect you to try your hardest and at least reach 80% of them.  The managers are reviewing the First Quarter performances with all of you just to let you know where you stood.  We know that you didn’t have a full 90 days to reach them, but this is an opportunity to see what you can improve on.  These performance standards give you an opportunity to sell things that you may not have in the past.  It helps you to learn about them.  And we don’t thing asking you to sell TWO TICKETS over a 90 day period is unreasonable.  Of course we don’t want you to sell Ripley’s over a 3 Park – 3 Day Park-to-Park Universal ticket.  Obviously we want you to sell the high profit tickets and make more money!  But we DO want you to be creative to sell things that you may not have.  Instead of offering $20 off a multi-day Universal ticket or 3 Day or higher Disney ticket, throw in Ripley’s, Gatorland, or one of the other smaller attractions for free.  Reach out to your leads or your Team Manager for more tips on selling these smaller attractions.

WORKING ADDITIONAL LOCATIONS

We are working our hardest to make sure all employees do not work only 1 location.  We want everyone to work at least one shift at another property outside of their normal location.  And this is done with a couple of exceptions (all Spanish speaking locations, etc.)  This is an effort to not only be FAIR TO EVERYONE, but also to give every employee an opportunity to have good shifts.  Sometimes a hotel is full of groups for a week or has a low occupancy, so this gives everyone a chance to at least have one good shift elsewhere.

MAKE SURE YOU PRINT VOUCHERS – DON’T ONLY GIVE RECEIPTS

We’ve had several situations where guests are showing up at various attractions (Boggy Creek, Kennedy Space Center, Wild Florida) without an actual voucher and are just giving receipts.  Remember, for those of you on Activity Link, after you complete the payment you must click “Reprint” at the bottom of your screen to produce a voucher that the guest presents at the attraction.  We just had a situation like this today for Kennedy Space Center where a guest showed up with a receipt instead of the actual voucher and they were very angry that they had this inconvenience.  Again, if you are unsure of how to process these transactions, please reach out to your lead.

DISNEY FREE WATER PARK – 2 OR 3 DAY TICKETS

The Free Water Park on any 2 or 3 Day Disney ticket continues through June 29th.  Guys, you MUST print the correct ticket.  We’ve had a couple of situations where guests were given the regular 2 or 3 Day tickets and it’s caused major problems because they didn’t get the Free Water Park as promised.  Please be very careful with this and make sure you are choosing the ticket with the FREE WATER PARK included.  Also, the 3 Day tickets CANNOT be discounted because the offer is to buy a 3 day at the FULL PRICE and get a Free Water Park.  If the guest wants the $20 off online match, they you will have to print the regular 3 Day Tickets without the Free Water Park.

UNIVERSAL – BUY 3 DAYS GET 2 DAYS FREE

There still seems to be some confusion on these tickets.  First of all, remember the guest MUST pay the price of a 3 DAY TICKET to get the special promotion ticket for 5 days.  They can pay for either a 2 Park 3 Day ticket or 3 Park 3 Day ticket.  For those of you in gifting, if you don’t see the 2 Park 3 Day PTP ticket, you can print the 2 Park 7 Day PTP EPA gifting ticket instead of the 5 Day Promo ticket.  The same goes for the 3 Park 3 Day PTP ticket.  You can print the 3 Park 7 Day PTP EPA Gifting ticket instead.  Also, the online price for the 2 Park 5 Day Base ticket is $45 per day, which comes out to $225 + tax = $240.  We CAN match this online price.

LEGOLAND BOGOS

We still have some errors being made on selling the Legoland BOGOS out of the “Touring” Gifting store.  First of all, the BOGO’s should not even be mentioned because you make LESS commission on the BOGO tickets than you do on the REGULAR tickets.  However, if it you are in Gifting, or it will save a sale and keep the guest going to the park, we will allow it.  Remember, this BOGO is for “Buy an Adult at FULL Price, Get a CHILD free” so you CANNOT discount these tickets.  And it must be an EQUAL NUMBER OF ADULTS AND CHILDREN.  If not, you MUST print any additional tickets out of the “Guest Service – Non-Touring” store.  Here’s an example:  A guest has 3 Adults and 2 Children.  You talk to them about Legoland and they mention they saw an offer for Kids Free.  You will then go to the POS and CHARGE FOR 2 BOGOS AND 1 REGULAR ADULT LEGOLAND (not BOGO).  You then go into the “Touring” store and print 2 Adults and 2 Kids Free tickets.  You LOGOUT of the “Touring” store, LOGIN to the “Non-Touring – Guest Services” store and print 1 Adult REGULAR ticket.  If you don’t process the transaction correctly this way, you will be charged for the difference.

NEW HIRE ORIENTATIONS

For those of you that are new hires, you are scheduled to attend a MANDATORY ORIENTATION this Thursday, May 3rd from 3:30 – 5:30 pm at Moonfish on Sand Lake Road.  We will be going over all company policies and benefits and dinner will be served.  All of you are EXPECTED TO BE THERE.  Thank you!

April 13, 2018 – Volume 27.15 – BE THOROUGH WITH YOUR GUESTS

You all did a great job with sales over the Spring Break period, but we had a lot of guest issues with tickets. You have no idea how many irate phone calls we get from guests on a daily/weekly basis because they got the wrong tickets, went to the wrong parks, etc. How can this be solved? When closing the sales and handing the tickets over, be sure to review everything thoroughly with the guests.  They should get PARK MAPS of the parks that are included.  Give them Tear Off Maps and CIRCLE the parks they get with their tickets.  Make sure they know the difference between Hollywood Studios and Universal Studios.  Twice in the last few weeks we had guests show up at Universal Studios with Disney tickets.  Make sure they know the park hours and any special events going on – fireworks, parades, etc.  Also, they need to know how long the tickets are valid.  For Disney Multi-day tickets all portions of the ticket must be used within 14 days.  For Sea World Multi-park tickets, all portions of the ticket must be used within 14 days.  For Universal Multi-day tickets, all portions of the ticket must be used within 7 days.

NEED TO INCREASE SEA WORLD SALES – DISCOVERY COVE PROMOTION

We really need to work on our Sea World sales.  Every guest should know about the All Day Dining promotions.  Remember, you can price match with the online prices, so with the 2 Park or 3 Park with All Day Dining, IT’S A GREAT DEAL!  Doing a price match and getting a smaller commission (but still really good!) is better than getting no commission at all!  Also, don’t forget the Discovery Cove ONLY promotion that goes through May 25th.  If you have a guest interested in Discovery Cove, always try to sell the regular pass that includes admission to Sea World and Aquatica for 14 consecutive days (or the Ultimate that adds Busch Gardens).  However, if a guest is price conscious or only has a limited amount of time, the special ticket is a great option!  It’s only $128 including taxes for the Day Resort ONLY (Non-swim) or $213 including taxes for the Day Resort with Dolphin Swim ONLY.

DISNEY FREE WATER PARK PROMOTION

Don’t forget with every 2 or 3 Day Disney Base OR Hopper ticket, our guests are getting a FREE DAY AT THE WATER PARKS!  This offer is not available online or at the gate, and is only available through Guest Services desks here in Orlando.  This special continues through June 29th, which is the LAST DAY the Water Park option can be used.  The one day Water Park is a Park Hopper, so they can visit both Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach on the same day as long as they are both open.  This should be an easy sell, especially with temperatures increasing!

DISNEY CONVENTION TICKETS

Just a reminder that the Disney Convention Tickets are only to be used by those here in business meetings or on a convention.  Families of those here on convention also qualify.  Remember to ask for credentials and ask which meeting or convention there are here with before selling tickets.  You should always FIRST try to sell a full day ticket instead of the After 1 or After 5.

UNIVERSAL 5 DAY PROMO TICKETS

The special is basically for 2 Days Free, so make sure you are charging for the 2 or 3 Park 3 Day Tickets.  You then print the 5 Day Promo ticket in Instant Ticket Wizard.  If the guest only wants 2 Days, you must print the regular 2 Day Tickets in Instant Ticket Wizard.

AGS DINING GUIDE

All locations should now have the Dining Guide.  This a great tool to show your guests all of the dining options we have and this should lead to more dinner show sales and Talk of the Town reservations.  Make sure you use the online reservation link on the AGS Homepage to make your TOTT reservations.  Just click on the picture of the restaurants located on the lower right corner of the Homepage.  Don’t forget to enter the restaurant desired, as well as your TOTT number.  When this is done, the reservation is guaranteed and there is no need to call to confirm.

EMPLOYEE NOTES:

Please welcome Meibys Reyes and Jayleon Pickles to the AGS Team!  Happy Birthday to Karl B. on 4/14!  Congrats to Erika C. for 5 Years on 4/15, Izzy G. for 5 Years on 4/19, Florence M. for 9 Years on 4/14, Lucia L. for 2 Years on 4/15, Mona M. for 2 Years on 4/15, Rachel S. for 2 Years on 4/15, and Ariana T. for 2 Years on 4/15!

April 6, 2018 – Volume 27.14 – NEW DISNEY TICKETS START SUNDAY APRIL 8TH!

Disney is offering us a GREAT ticket special starting Sunday, April 8th and continuing through June 29th. These specials will ONLY be available from Guest Services desks in the Orlando Market, and will NOT be available online or at the gate. For any 2 or 3 Day Base or Hopper, we will be giving our guests A FREE ONE DAY WATER PARK HOPPER that will be included with the ticket! So the tickets will be priced at the regular Two or Three Day Base or Hopper price, but will give this extra admission. As always, from the first date of use, all portions of the ticket must be used within 14 days. The last day for the Water Park option to be used will be June 29th. However, if a guest purchases this ticket and does not use the ticket until after June 29th, they will be forfeiting the Water Park admission, but the rest of the ticket will not expire until December 31, 2019. The Free Water Park option is good for a FULL DAY (not an After 2 pm as we had before) and DOES allow them to Water Park Hop on the SAME day. So they can visit both Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach on the SAME DAY as long as both Water Parks are open. The commissions will remain the same as on the current 2 and 3 Day tickets. Remember, this will START ON SUNDAY, APRIL 8TH. Happy selling!

DISCOVERY COVE SPECIAL

You will now be able to sell (DCO) Discovery Cove Orlando ONLY tickets for guest! The (DCO) Discovery Cove Orlando ONLY tickets WILL NOT include the SW/AQ admission. This option should only be offered to guest that are here for a limited time. Even though the DCO ONLY is aggressively priced, the best value for the guest is the regular (or ultimate) package that includes SW/AQ (& BG).
Prices:
Day Resort ONLY will retail for $120+taxes ($128 per person)
Day Resort with Dolphin Swim ONLY will retail for $200+taxes ($213 per person)
Both options will have fixed prices and will not fluctuate. Unlike the regular (or Ultimate) packages, you will only enter the quantity of the number of tickets you are selling. For Example, if you have a family of 4, the quantity you will enter is 4. If you have any questions please contact a lead or a manager.

What is Included at Discovery Cove Orlando ONLY:
Day Resort ONLY admission includes use of lockers, wetsuit, towels and mask, free parking at Discovery Cove, Shower amenities, souvenir snorkel, breakfast, lunch, drinks, and snacks, access to the Explorer’s Aviary, The Grand Reef, Freshwater Oasis, Serenity Bay, and Wind-away River.

Day Resort with Dolphin Swim ONLY includes everything in the Day Resort PLUS a dolphin swim session.

Most importantly, you will still need to go into your EZ ticket account to check availability and book the reservation. The keyword to look for is “ONLY”!

Here are a few points to remember:

– Your commission on the REGULAR Discovery Cove bookings is HIGHER, so you should always suggest these first, and only use the special offer if the guest has a limited time in Orlando OR they are very price sensitive
– These tickets DO NOT include Sea World and Aquatica, or Busch Gardens (which is included with the Ultimate Package)
– You must log in to EZ Ticket FIRST to check availability
– Always look for the term “ONLY” when choosing this offer in EZ Ticket – “Discovery Cove Day Resort ONLY” (which does NOT include the Dolphin swim) or “DCO Only with Dolphin Swim” (which DOES include the swim)
– The “Non-Swim” is located at the top of the reservation page in EZ Ticket and the “Swim” is located at the bottom of the reservation page in EZ Ticket
– The “Swim” price is $213 including taxes in the POS and the “Day Resort” is $128 in the POS including taxes, so be sure to charge these prices when selling these tickets

Better news! All of these tickets count towards the Incentive! Here are details on the incentive:

From April 1st – April 30th –
– Book a minimum of $2500 in Discovery Cove sales and earn TWO Day Resort Packages!
– Book $4000 or more in Discovery Cove sales and earn TWO Dolphin Swims with SeaVenture!
– Book $6000 or more in Discovery Cove sales and earn TWO Trainer for a Day programs!
– Book $8000 or more in Discovery Cove sales and earn a Family Pack – 4 Swims, VIP cabana and a photo package!

QUARTERLY GOALS

Everyone should have received their Quarterly Goals that cover the period of April 1st – June 30th.  We want to make it clear that we expect EVERY ONE OF YOU to work to achieve these goals.  We are hearing negative feedback from some of you that frankly is unjustified and won’t be tolerated.  These goals are very low and attainable, specifically on the ones that you only have to sell “2” over a 90 day period.  Instead of looking at this negatively, you should take a positive attitude and say “I can sell 2 of those!”  Then learn about those particular vendors that you feel you may be weak on, and find something positive about them to sell to a guest.  Find a creative way to “package” them with another attraction.  Not only will you now learn about something that you haven’t sold before, but you will make commissions as well.  We are sure that ALL of you will be able to achieve these goals by June 30th!

BREAK POLICY

When all of you went through Orientations, you were informed of the break policy and you signed confirming that you understand it. Your PRIORITY should be selling tickets and taking care of the guests. IN NO WAY SHOULD YOU EVER TAKE A BREAK IF THERE ARE GUESTS IN THE LOBBY OR APPROACHING YOUR DESK. We have had far too many complaints about our staff being away from the desk when it’s busy and there being long lines of people waiting to buy tickets! This is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. No breaks should EVER be taken between 7 am and 11:30 am. This is our peak time to sell tickets and you should always be available. All breaks should be taken ON PROPERTY. If for some reason, you forgot your lunch, NO ONE IS ALLOWED TO LEAVE PROPERTY FOR A LUNCH BREAK WITHOUT INFORMING YOUR TEAM MANAGER. Here is the form all of you signed. If these policies are not adhered to, you will be reprimanded and/or terminated.

– Shifts of 6 Hours or less
– NO LUNCH OR MEAL BREAKS ARE ALLOWED
– You may take short restroom, smoke, snack or drink breaks – of a duration no longer than 5 minutes and a maximum of 3 per shift
– You are NOT PERMITTED to leave property during your shift
– You are NOT PERMITTED to eat ANY food off of the hotel breakfast bar, whether it’s permitted by the hotel manager or not
– Any food or meals must be eaten BEFORE or AFTER your shift
– Any snacks eaten on a short break must be eaten in a designated break area – ANYONE EATING BEHIND THE DESK WILL BE TERMINATED

– Shifts LONGER than 6 Hours
– Because AGS pays for your lunch break, you are NO LONGER PERMITTED TO LEAVE PROPERTY FOR YOUR LUNCH/DINNER BREAK. This is a liability issue because you are still on the clock. You MUST bring your lunch/dinner or eat the meals provided by the hotel, if applicable
– If you must leave the property for your lunch/dinner break or any other emergency, an AGS manager as well as the Front Desk staff must give you permission. YOU MUST ALLOW THE POS SYSTEM TO CLOCK YOU OUT FOR THIS. Anyone leaving the property for ANY reason without permission will be terminated
– You ARE permitted to take ONE optional 30 minute lunch/dinner break in a designated employee break area, out of the guest’s view
– No food of ANY KIND can be eaten at the desk – ANYONE EATING BEHIND THE DESK WILL BE TERMINATED
– If you are working an AM shift, you are NOT PERMITTED to take a lunch break before 11:30 AM
– If you are working with an OPC, you are NOT PERMITTED to take a break together. Someone must be available to take care of the guests at all times
– You are NOT PERMITTED to leave 30 minutes early and have it count as your lunch break, and you are NOT PERMITTED to take a lunch/dinner break with 60 minutes of the beginning of your shift

UNIVERSAL 5 PARK PROMO TICKETS

We’ve had a lot of people charging the wrong amounts for these tickets.  Remember, a guest must pay the 3 Day Price in order to receive the 2 Days Free.  Some of you were only charging for a 2 Day ticket which caused a loss that we had to charge back.  So remember, the guest must be charged for THESE TICKETS in order to get the 2 Days Free:

2 Park 3 Day Base / 2 Park 3 Day Park-to-Park / 3 Park 3 Day Base / 3 Park 3 Day Park-to-Park

ORLANDO CITY TICKET SALES

There is a HOME MATCH this Sunday, 4/8 at 4 pm against the Portland Timbers.

TONER – DRUMS

Here is a crash course in Toners and Drums.  When you pull out the cartridges in your Brother printer, there are 2 pieces – the Drum and the Toner.  The drum is the bottom piece with the roller that heats up and gets the ink to stick to the paper.  The toner is the piece that fits inside that distributes the ink.  The drum should ONLY need to be changed out once every 6 months if that.  Just because the “Toner” light comes on does NOT mean you change the drum as well.  Drums are VERY expensive and should not be changed until the “Drum” light comes on,

NEW SEA WORLD TICKETS

Hopefully you all have seen the e-mails about the new 2 Park and 3 Park Sea World tickets with All Day Dining.  Again, the guest can choose either 2 or 3 of the following parks and get All Day Dining with each park:  Sea World, Aquatica, Busch Gardens, and Adventure Island.  For those of you on Activity Link or ITicketPOS, the tickets are listed at Retail Price, but of course WE WANT YOU TO DO AN ONLINE PRICE MATCH if the guest mentions this special.  Either way, the commissions are EXCELLENT and this is a great deal for the guest, so please make sure you push these tickets!  Remember, the voucher is NOT the actual ticket.  They must proceed to ZONE A at the front of the park (which is the Self-Service Kiosks), scan their voucher, and a ticket will drop out which will be good for admission AND All Day Dining.  The keep that ticket for all parks chosen for both admission and Dining.  For All Day Dining, they present their ticket at the first restaurant they choose and they will get a wristband to show for the rest of the day.  Remember, this is not an admission WITH A MEAL, but with All Day Dining which allows 1 entree, 1 side or dessert, and 1 non-alcoholic beverage PER HOUR.  As with all Sea World Multi-Park tickets, all portions of the ticket must be used within 14 days of the first date of use.  Also, starting April 5th, Discovery Cove will be offering us a VERY SPECIAL rate on all bookings from 4/5 through 5/25.  More information on this will be out soon!

UNIVERSAL PROMO TICKETS

Universal is also offering us special tickets that are good now through September 13th that will offer 2 Free Days with the purchase of either a 2 or 3 Park 3 Day Base or Park-to-Park ticket.  So for all of you in Guest Services, as long as someone wants a 3 Day ticket, you will print the 5 Day Promo ticket.  For those of you in GIFTING, continue to print the 2 or 3 Park 7 Day EPA Gifting tickets for Park-to-Park tickets.  Obviously if a guest wants a BASE ticket, you will print the 5 Day Promo ticket.  Please reach out to your lead or Team Manager if you have any question.

PEAK – ANYTIME TICKETS CONTINUE THROUGH 4/8

For all ONE DAY DISNEY SALES, we continue to be in PEAK season through Sunday 4/8.  For all ONE DAY UNIVERSAL SALES, we continue to be in ANYTIME season through Sunday 4/8.

DISNEY WATER PARKS – SEASONAL TICKETS WITH BLOCK OUTS

Remember, for the INDIVIDUAL Disney Water Park ticket sales, you should still be selling the CHEAPER seasonal tickets with Block Outs.  If you have an option on tickets to sell, always choose the CHEAPER ones through May 25th.  Starting May 26th through August 26th, they will be in PEAK season so at that time you will sell the more expensive tickets.

TALK OF THE TOWN – AGS $39 SPECIAL OFFER

We are very excited about our new arrangement with Talk of the Town Restaurant Group.  They have arranged a special $39 meal for ALL GUEST SERVICES GUESTS ONLY!  In order for your guests to get this offer, they MUST present the special referral cards printed for you.  Be sure to put your TOTT number on the card, and they only need ONE CARD PER PARTY.  Giving more cards to the same party will not do you any good.  To book a reservation, click on the TOTT box on the bottom right of the AGS Homepage.  Please fill out all information and be sure to choose the correct restaurant and address.  YOUR GUESTS HAVE GUARANTEED RESERVATIONS THROUGH THIS SYSTEM, SO THEIR IS NO NEED TO CALL UNLESS THEY NEED TRANSPORTATION.  We will be getting a great new “Dinner” guide out to you all soon, where all of this will be featured.

BE THOROUGH WITH YOUR SALES

Please make sure you are very thorough when closing your sales.  Make sure the guest understands what parks are included with the tickets, and how long they have to use them.  Give them park maps and CIRCLE the parks they can visit so there is no confusion.  For anyone purchasing Disney tickets, make sure they know how to set up their Fast Passes, and make sure they do it BEFORE they go to the parks.  Many times, especially during the peak times, all of the Fast Passes get distributed early, so don’t have them wait until they get to the parks.  Also, be sure to check Block Out dates – especially for those of you on Rezgo on Universal Convention tickets.  Check your notes in the system and read them thoroughly before selling.

EMPLOYEE NOTES

Happy Birthday to Delila on 3/25, Alma on 4/1, and Jose A. on 3/27!   Congrats to Patricia G. for 15 years on 4/4!

March 16, 2018 – Volume 27.11 – BUSY SEASON IS HERE!

Are you ready to make some money?  Starting tomorrow, 3/17 through April 8th should be the 3 busiest weeks of the Spring!  Are you prepared?  Take care of yourselves because you don’t want to miss any time during these 3 weeks.  Get plenty of rest.  Check your supplies at your location.  Make sure you have at least 6 packs of Adult Disney shells (DTI) and 2 packs of Children.  All locations should have at least 2 backup rolls of both credit card and POS tape.  If you develop a line, be sure to greet everyone behind your first guest with a pleasant “Hi  folks.  I’ll be right with you!” and give them something to look over while they’re waiting, like the FunGuide, Activity Guide, or dinner show brochures.  Work as quickly as possible, but don’t be careless and make mistakes that will cost you your commissions!

DISNEY – UNIVERSAL PEAK SEASON FROM 3/17 – 4/8

For all ONE DAY TICKET SALES, Disney is in PEAK season from 3/17 – 4/8, and Universal is in ANYTIME season during the same time period.  Be sure to ask your guests “What day will you be visiting the park?” before printing or selling any tickets.

SEA WORLD – NEW TICKET PRODUCTS – SEVEN SEAS FOOD FESTIVAL – 14 DAY USAGE

Legoland is now open on a daily basis through the end of the summer.  Also, Legoland’s Water Park is now open on a daily basis as well.  Remember, if you have guests wanting the Free Shuttle, they must be booked no later than 11 am the day before.  Please be sure to give your guests specific instructions on where to pick up the bus.  The stop is located on the back side of the base of the Orlando Eye facing Universal Boulevard.  There is a “lego brick” bus stop where they should be at no later than 8:45 am for a 9:00 am departure.

TONERS / DRUMS

We need to make sure everyone knows the difference between a toner and a drum.  If you’re getting an alert that your toner is out, DO NOT REPLACE THE DRUM.  Drums are VERY expensive and some of you are replacing them when it’s not needed.  If you open the front cover of the printer and pull out the the drum & toner, there are TWO pieces.  The toner FITS INSIDE the drum, which is the piece that surrounds the toner.  Again, if your toner light is on, ONLY REPLACE THE PIECE THAT FITS INSIDE – the toner.  DO NOT REPLACE THE DRUM.  FYI – Here are toners and drums that go with each Brother printer:  HL2140 – Toner TN360, Drum – DR360; HL2240 – Toner TN450, Drum – DR420; HL2320D – Toner TN660, Drum – DR630.  All locations should have at least ONE backup toner in case you run out.

BE ATTENTIVE TO GUESTS

All of you know that cell phone use IS NOT PERMITTED during your work hours.  If you have an emergency and need to take a call, step way from the desk for a quick minute.  Otherwise phones need to be put away and on “silent” mode while working.  No one should be using the computer for anything but BUSINESS use.  There is to be no watching of movies or playing games while working.  Your attention should always be focused on the guests in the lobby.  Keep your head and eyes up.  If there’s no one at your desk, get out from behind the desk and greet guests in the lobby and breakfast area.  If there is no one in the lobby, take that time to research products that you are not familiar with so you can sell them better.  Research all of the tours with Grayline and Florida Dolphin Tours.  Look at things like Forever Florida, TreeTrek, WonderWorks, Boggy Creek, Andretti, etc.  Make yourself more informed and your sales will increase!
