― Mahatma Gandhi

There are a LOT of special events and tickets associated with Halloween.  So please see below for details so you can be well informed and give your guests the correct information.  Please take the time during your slow periods to go to EVERY theme park’s website to see their specific details on their Halloween events.  FYI, we are NOT selling Howl-O-Scream tickets for Busch Gardens.

Hurricane Dorian

Team, we know all of you are concerned about Hurricane Dorian.  As far as our plans, we will be waiting for the theme parks to announce their intentions before we make our decisions. If they all project to close a particular day, we will PROBABLY fall suit, but we will let you know. Of course the safety of all of you is our main concern. This decision will probably be made either Sunday or early Monday.  We hope each and everyone of you are stock up on food, water, first aid kit and etc..

Employee Notes

We selling DISNEY TICKETS we all should be asking the guests what date they are planning on going to the park.. If guests are buying ticket during your pm shift, make sure to confirm with them when they plan on attending the park..DON”T ASSUME. Make sure to put the correct date when booking…. Meaning the date they plan on starting the park.. Do to the overwhelming mistakes with the validity of the Disney DTD it is mandatory that the validity date be written on the back of every tickets with a sharpie.

UNIVERSAL TICKET SALES MUST BE MATCHED UP WITH YOUR CLOSEOUT REPORT. We continue to have a LOT of problems with Universal tickets – Adults being given Child tickets; Guests being given Value tickets when it’s a Regular day; Guest getting PTP when they only paid for Base. Again, make sure you are using the filters on the left side of the ticket page to filter out only the tickets you need. At the end of the day, RUN A SUMMARY REPORT and make sure the total sales of each type of ticket match up with your CLOSEOUT sales. If report don’t match, run a DETAIL REPORT and return the first set (sequentially) of any tickets duplicated.

As most of you know, we have decided to terminate the partnership agreement with Expedia effective March 31st. The agreement was to have AGS and Expedia to work in “partnership”  together.  After 3 years they decided to pursue AGS contracted locations.  That is why we no longer have that account as of 3/1. Our decision was made on the basis that “partners” do not operate like this.  Our future is still bright with relationships that we’ve formed over the years and our reputation of operating with honesty and integrity.  With that said, we need your help. First of all, each of you needs to take a look at yourself and see if you are the best Concierge that you can be, because eyes are on you all the time.  Are you dressing professionally – shirts pressed, proper slacks and shoes, clean shaven or trimmed beards, hair neat and clean? Are you giving your guests exceptional Guest Service and going Above and Beyond?  Are you smiling and answering all guest questions and concerns?  Are you assisting the guests even if they don’t buy anything from you?  When you close a sale, are you thanking your guests and giving them detailed information like park hours, fast pass instructions, and information on how to use the tickets?  Are you greeting guests in the lobby?  This is what we need from each of you.  We don’t want to have anything that Expedia can use against us.  Try to get more positive guest comments, and if you have a guest wanting to compliment your service, please have them do so on Yelp, Google Reviews, Trip Advisor, and the AGS Facebook page.

DISNEY UPDATES

Disney After Hours is sold out for the Animal Kingdom on Tuesday, March 5th. We have a revenue incentive for the month of March. The top 3 producers from each of these 3 teams – Gifting, Hotels, and Premier – will receive prizes! 1st Place – 2 Disney After Hours tickets and a $50 Disney Gift Card (or $300 in Disney Gift Cards); 2nd Place – $150 in Disney Gift Cards; 3rd Place – $100 in Disney Gift Cards. In addition, 3 Disney Gift Baskets – one for each team – will be given out by raffle to anyone that sells Disney tickets, so everyone will have a chance to win! The 4 Park Select ticket is now available for sale. Guests have 7 days from the first date of use to use all 4 admissions. This ticket works exactly like the 4 Park Magic ticket – ONE VISIT to each of the 4 MAJOR parks – Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. Please remember the the ticket is BLOCKED OUT FROM MARCH 15 – MARCH 26, so if a guest wants to visit one park each day, they MUST start using the ticket on March 11. The last day we will be able to sell this ticket is March 31. Guests who purchase and don’t use them at the time of purchase can still do so during these dates: Now through March 14; March 27 – April 9: April 27 – May 27; and August 19 – September 30.

SEA WORLD UPDATES

The Sea World Weekday tickets are currently available for sale through March 12th. If they extend, we will let you know. As long as the tickets are purchased and printed by March 12th, the guests have up to 1 year to use them on any Weekday. Due to forecasted low temperatures, Aquatica will be closed TUESDAY March 5th and Wednesday March 6th. Don’t forget the Seven Seas Food Festival continues on Weekends from now through May 5th. In addition to great food and wine samplers (guests can purchase lanyards to try the food and drinks, there are some GREAT groups performing, so let your guests know that these are included with park admission.

UNIVERSAL UPDATES

The 2 and 3 Park Promo ticket with 2 Free Days continues through June 30th. All usage on the tickets MUST be completed by June 30, so if a guest wants to use all 4 days, they must purchase and start using them by June 27th. Mardi Gras is in full effect at Universal Studios through April 4th. Parades run nightly, and there are some great acts lined up to perform Saturdays and Sundays through March 31st. Again, this is included with regular park admission. Also, make sure you are checking the calendar when printing One Day Universal tickets. It’s very weird because it’s Value season Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday this week and next, and Regular season every other day.

ORLANDO MAGIC

The Orlando Magic only have 8 home games remaining for their push to the playoffs. This Friday versus the Dallas Mavericks is SOLD OUT. Don’t forget that with the sale of a Terrace or Club seat, any children in the party will receive a FREE Orlando Magic youth basketball, so push those lower level seats. Also, they continue to do $100 drawings each week for ALL TICKET SELLERS (not just AGS). So far, Michelle Victoria has been the only one to win with AGS.

ORLANDO CITY SOCCER

We are once again selling Orlando City Soccer tickets. They will be priced at the same rates as last year, and we will be using the same procedures as last year. In addition to having tickets available in all areas, we have 12 company seats available in Section 1, which is lower level on the goal line. All leads will have the booking procedures so please call your Team Lead or Manager if you have guests interested. Upcoming matches: Vs. Montreal Impact, Saturday, 3/16, 4 pm; Vs. DC United, Sunday, 3/31, 6:30 pm.

SPRING FORWARD!

Don’t forget that Sunday, March 8th marks the beginning of Daylight Savings Time. Make sure you turn all of your clocks AHEAD 1 HOUR BEFORE GOING TO BED SATURDAY NIGHT.

Happy March Birthday and Anniversary!

February 8, 2019 – WE NEED TO FOCUS ON GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Hopefully all of you have read the messages about guest comments that were sent out through When to Work. It is very disappointing to read some of the negative comments that we’re received and it needs to be corrected.  First of all, we expect all of you to SMILE and greet the guests in the lobby in friendly manner.  If a guest asks you a question that you do not know the answer to, YOU CANNOT SAY “I DON’T KNOW”.  The proper response is “If you’ll give me a minute, let me see what I can do to help you and find out for you”.  Then you should Google it.  If you can’t find it through Google, contact your Team Lead or Manager.  As a good Concierge, you should always know the specifics about the property you are working.  Most of our locations have Property Guides that you can refer to.  If you don’t have a Property Guide or are in a hotel that you have not worked before, you should get there EARLY to make sure you have time to walk the property and know where everything is.  These are just a few of the things you should know about your property:  Restaurants and hours, Pool Hours, Shuttle Services and times for pick up, where the shuttles pick up, where the meeting rooms are located and their names, where the restrooms are located, and any other services that your particular hotel provides like Spa Services.  NO ONE SHOULD WALK AWAY FROM OUR DESKS NOT FEELING HAPPY ABOUT THEIR EXPERIENCE!

DISNEY UPDATES

The 4 Park Magic can continue to be sold through March 14th.  Remember, you MUST let your guests know that with this ticket, they MUST VISIT each of the 4 major parks (Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios) ONE TIME ONLY and cannot repeat any of the parks.  They can however do more than 1 park on a day, as long as they realize that they will be eliminating any parks visited on that same day.

ONE VISIT TO EACH OF THE 4 MAJOR PARKS

DISNEY AFTER HOURS

DAH offers your guests a GREAT opportunity to enjoy the parks with less crowds and lines, as well as giving them complimentary non-alcoholic beverages, ice cream and popcorn. With our tickets, the guest can enter the park as early as 7 pm. Here are the parks, dates and times for the upcoming events:

Magic Kingdom – February 14th, 9 pm – Midnight; February 21, 9 pm – Midnight; February 28th, 8 pm – 11 pm

Hollywood Studios – February 9th, 8:30 pm – 11:30 pm, February 16th, 8:30 pm – 11:30 pm; March 2nd, 8:30 pm – 11:30 pm

Animal Kingdom – February 12th, 8:30 pm – 11:30 pm; February 13th, 8:30 pm – 11:30 pm; February 19th, 8:30 pm – 11:30 pm; February 26th, 8:30 pm – 11:30 pm

Also, don’t forget to ask your guests “What day will you be visiting the park?” and then print the ticket accordingly. If someone is buying the ticket late in the afternoon, obviously they will not be going to the park on that day – you should know that and ask them. Or better yet, try to sell the FLEX tickets to give the guest the most flexibility and not have to choose their dates.

SEA WORLD

The Kid’s Free special has ended, however the Weekday Tickets will continue at least through March 5th. Also, Sea World is offering another special online. Buy a Sea World, get an Aquatica FREE. BUT THIS OFFER IS ONLY GOOD 3 DAYS IN ADVANCE. We can honor this promotion if a guest wants it 3 days in advance. The price is $99.99 + tax + Service Charge for a total of $117. You will print the Sea World/Aquatica Combo ticket – Or Sea World/Aquatica GIFTING ticket if you are in Gifting – and discount the price down to $117. For those of you on the Premier Team, please reach out to Andrea or Luis for instructions with RezGo. Also, the Seven Seas Food Festival has started and is every Friday, Saturday and Sunday through May 5th. This is a great opportunity for your guests to see top live bands and try tastes of food, beer, and wine throughout the world. The performances are included with regular admission, but guests can purchase lanyards to experience the food and drink options throughout the park.

FRIDAYS, SATURDAYS AND SUNDAYS THROUGH MAY 5TH

UNIVERSAL ORLANDO

The special “Buy 2 Days, Get 2 Days Free” continues through March 14th. With every Universal sale, you should be offering Blue Man Group as well. Get into the habit of doing this. We can offer a $10 discount on the BMG if the guest purchases tickets at the same time.

ORLANDO MAGIC

Upcoming Games: Charlotte Hornets – 2/14; Chicago Bulls – 2/22; Golden State Warriors 2/28. Don’t forget if you have any youth in the party age 15 and under, they receive a FREE Youth Basketball available for pick up at the Section 115 Terrace Level kiosk for any purchase of a Terrace or Club Level Magic ticket. Please remember the promotion is only applicable for children ages 15 and under and the child must be present to receive the basketball.

The offer is valid only through authorized Orlando Magic Ticket sellers for tickets purchased from 2/7/2019-4/5/2019. There are 11 games left to the 18-19 Season!!! Let’s help push Terrace and Club level seats to your guests. The basketballs are a great gift and memory for the children to take back home ??

PIRATE’S TOWN – NEW SHOWS! EXPERIENCE THEM FOR FREE!

January 12, 2019 – Volume 28.1 – WORK HARD FOR SALES!

You all did a fantastic job over the holidays, but now it’s back to normal. Take this slower time to improve yourself and your sales skills. When it’s slow, look through the notes in the POS system and make sure you are familiar with all products. Look at things that you may not sell that often, like Grayline or Florida Dolphin Tours, Crayola Experience, Wild Florida and Boggy Creek, Wonderworks, Titanic, Ripley’s Believe It or Not, or Revolution Off Road. All of these things provide you with more commission than selling a One Day Disney or Universal ticket, so familiarize yourself with them so you can better sell them. When you don’t have anyone at your desk, make sure you are going out and mingling in the lobby. We want you to act like the Hotel Ambassador by greeting guests and welcoming them. Let them know you are the Concierge and you are there to assist them with anything they need, including tickets, restaurant reservations and discounts. No one is to be on their phones or using the computer for personal things, like games and shopping. You should be using any downtime to do the things described above. We consistently see that the employees who do these things make MORE MONEY!

GREAT NEWS! Starting January 18th – March 1st, we will once again be selling the 4 Park Magic ticket. This ticket allows ONE ADMISSION to each of the 4 major Disney parks. So please do not call it a 4 Day ticket, call it a 4 Park ticket. More than 1 park can be used on the same day, although it will take that number away from their remaining usage. In other words, if a guest only has 2 days and they want this ticket, they can do 2 parks on 1 day and 2 parks on the other day. NO PARKS CAN BE REPEATED. It is only a 1 visit per park ticket. Once usage starts, the guest has up to 7 days to complete use of the ticket.

Disney After Hours

Disney After Hours is a great alternative to a guest spending a day in the park. Our guests can enter as early as 7 pm and do things in the park that are not available After Hours. The event usually goes from 8 pm – 11 pm, 9 pm – 12 am, or 10 pm – 1 am depending on the park and date. Here are the upcoming dates for January:  ANIMAL KINGDOM – 1/16, 1/22, and 1/31.  HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS – 1/12, 1/19 AND  2/2.  MAGIC KINGDOM – 1/17, 1/24 and 1/28.  Remember, DAH gives our guests admission to most of the major rides/attractions in the park with little to no wait in line. In addition, all guests receive unlimited ice cream, popcorn and select beverages.

Sea World – Kid’s Free

If you have a family with kids, we have a great offer going with Sea World. For every FULL PAYING Adult, the guest can get an equal number of Kid’s tickets free! Remember, this is ONLY sold 1 to 1. You cannot put in 1 Adult and 2 Kids free or vice versa. Any additional tickets must be sold as regular admission tickets. In Activity Link, the price of $116 includes all taxes and fees, and is split in the POS between the adult and the child for a total of $58 each. For RezGo users, check with your lead and/or manager. Remember, this offer is NOT AVAILABLE at the gate and is only available through us or online. We will be able to sell tickets through February 3rd.

Universal Buy 2 – Get 2

Universal has resumed the offer of Buy a 2 or 3 Park – 2 Day ticket and get 2 Days Free. So the guest will only be paying for a 2 Day ticket, but you will be printing the 4 Day Promo ticket. This will be available to sell through March 14, 2019.

Health Insurance

For those of you who enrolled in our Health Plan, coverage begins January 15th. This includes all coverages – Health, Dental, Vision, and Life. As long as you provided the correct address, all information should be mailed to you. If you ever have any specific questions you can call our Insurance Broker – IPRG – at 407-480-3456.

W-2’s

The W-2’s are in and we will be mailing them to the address provided in PayChex. If for some reason you do not receive it, you can print up your own through PayChex Flex using the same logins you use to get your check stubs.

Dinner Shows – Talk of the Town

Don’t forget to ask EVERY guest “Do you have any dinner plans while you’re here? If not, we have some great suggestions for you! First of all, instead of going to a restaurant that you can go to back home, why don’t you take in a dinner show? Not only do you get a 3 or 4 course meal and beverages, but you will have a 2 hour show to enjoy and make memories with your family! And all of this for not much more than you would pay at a regular restaurant!” Then offer one of the following: Pirate’s Dinner Adventure, Medieval Times, Wonderworks Outta Control Comedy Magic Show (these 3 are the best for kids), Mangos, Rock Dinner Show, and Sleuth’s Mystery Dinner Show.
Be sure to show them our “Dining Guide” that has all of the menus available. If a guest wants to go to a nice restaurant, always suggest Talk of the Town Restaurants and show them the exclusive $39 AGS Menu. This is good at Vito’s Chophouse, Charley’s Steak House, Moonfish, Fishbones, and Johnny’s Hideaway. Remember, if they choose the $39 menu, you can make a reservation on our homepage and your guests will be guaranteed a seat.

November 9, 2018 – Volume 27.42 – NEW SEA WORLD TICKET PRICING EFFECTIVE 11/13

Effective Tuesday, 11/13, Sea World is taking a similar route with their tickets as Disney and Universal.  They will be offering an “Advance Purchase” price that is lower than their normal price as long as the guest buys them AT LEAST 3 DAY PRIOR to the date of visit.  For example, if they buy the tickets on a MONDAY, they would be able to start using them on THURSDAY.  If a guest wants to go SAME DAY, you will sell the Anytime tickets.  We will be doing online price matches as well.  The POS system should be loaded and ready for sales starting Tuesday, 11/13.

MICKEY’S VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS PARTY (MVMCP)

We are now selling MVMCP tickets.  These tickets work the same as the MNSSHP tickets.  Guests with our tickets are allowed to enter the Magic Kingdom as early as 4 pm.  IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO LET ANY GUESTS GOING TO THE MAGIC KINGDOM ON AN EVENT NIGHT THAT THE PARK CLOSES AT 6 PM!  Make sure you are giving out the “Times and Information” to every guest and highlight this.  Upcoming dates are 11/12, 11/13, 11/15, and 11/6.  These nights are a great alternative to going to the park during the day.  The park is less crowded and there are special Christmas parades and fireworks.  In addition, for every 10 tickets sold during a 2 week pay period, we will be giving a $20 bonus!

DISNEY DATE BASED TICKETS

So far you all have done a great job with selling these tickets.  However, we have had at least 5 situations where irate guests have called the office from the Park because they couldn’t get in.  Most of these situations are happening around the 1 Day Tickets.  Guys, IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT YOU ASK THE GUEST WHAT DATE THEY WILL BE GOING TO THE PARK.  If you are selling tickets at 5:30 pm, do you think the guests would really want to go to the park that day?  This actually happened and we had an irate guest that went to the park the following day and we had to refund money to AND give free tickets.  You MUST ASK what date they will be going to the park and print that date, not the day you are selling them.

BLUE MAN GROUP – SPECIAL OFFERS

We will be starting a special offer for Blue Man Group.  Basically for every FULL PRICED Tier 1 Fri/Sat Adult ticket purchase, we will be giving a free ticket.  We will also be offering special prices if BMG is purchased with a Universal ticket.  Universal was nice enough to give us a lower rate on BMG, but ONLY if we increase sales.  Anytime you are selling Universal tickets, you should always try to add BMG to the sale and offer a discount.

ENTERPRISE RENTAL CARS

How many of you are recommending a rental car to your guests?  If a guest is constantly taking taxis or Ubers, recommend a rental car through Enterprise.  The rates are reasonable (sometimes as low as $20/day) and it allows your guests a lot of flexibility.  Plus if they want to go to the beach or Kennedy Space Center and they don’t want to take Grayline or Florida Dolphin Tours, have them rent a car!  Remember, you can use the link on the AGS homepage to make the booking.  Also, ALL RENTALS MUST BE PUT IN THE POS.  Some of you are forgetting to do this.  Remember, Enterprise has to be used FIRST, followed by Dollar/Thrifty/Hertz.  These are our ONLY approved companies.  And anyone using a non-approved company (unless they are in the lobby of your hotel) will be terminated.

ACTIVITY LINK USERS – FREE 1 DAY I-RIDE TROLLEY TICKETS

For those of you on Activity Link, there seems to be some confusion on the Free I-Ride Trolleys with the purchase of a Sea World ticket.  This is not optional.  When selling a ticket – no matter what hotel you are at (including 192) – YOU MUST PRINT A SEPARATE I-RIDE TROLLEY TICKET FOR EACH TICKET SOLD!  Don’t worry if the guest says they won’t use it.  Don’t worry if your guests are staying in Kissimmee.  You MUST print this voucher and give it to the guest.  Be sure you choose the FREE I-RIDE TROLLEY option in Activity Link, not the regular I-Ride vouchers.  Also, in the very near future, we will be rolling this out for all Universal tickets sold as well.

NEW AGS MINIMUM PAY RATES

In case you didn’t see the message sent in When to Work, we have decided to increase our minimum hourly rate and guarantee by $.50 per hour. So for those of you currently at $5.50 per hour, you will be paid at $6.00 per hour + commissions and our guaranteed hourly rate will increase to $10 per hour. If you are in your 90 day probationary period, you will be increased from $5 per hour to $5.50 per hour and then go to $6 per hour after 90 days. You will notice this on this weeks pay check and commission breakdown. Now, we don’t want you to get lazy! None of you should be happy making $10 per hour and you should be pushing for sales to average $15 per hour or more! This is just a way for us to make sure all of you are at least $10 per hour. CONGRATS!

SPORTING EVENTS

ORLANDO MAGIC UPCOMING GAMES – For those of you with the Magic Laminates, be sure you are keeping them handy and visible at your desk for your guests to see.  Upcoming games:  Friday, 11/9 – vs Washington Wizards; Wednesday 11/14 vs Philadelphia 76ers; Saturday, 11/17 vs LA Lakers; Sunday 11/18 vs NY Knicks.  Premier Team – call the Orlando Magic Tourism hotline for bookings and give your guest a voucher to pick up their tickets at Will Call.  All other teams, call your lead or Team Manager to book the tickets for you.  They will put the tickets in DropBox for you to print out and give to the guests.

TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS – We have yet to sell 1 ticket to the Tampa Bay Bucs games.  Make sure your guests are aware that we sell these.  Any bookings must be done through an AGS manager.  Your guests must have a smart phone and an email address because they only have paperless entry and your guests must show the tickets on their phone for entry.  Premier Team must collect cash and keep it separate from your deposit.  All others, the pricing and tickets are in Activity Link.  Next Home Game – Sunday, 11/11, 1 pm vs. the Washington Redskins.

DINNER SHOWS

Again, dinner shows offer some of the highest commissions!  One of your Discovery Questions for your guests should be “Do you have any dinner plans?”  Then go into your pitch for Dinner Shows and/or Talk of the Town restaurants.  Talk about how they should make a memory with the family on vacation by going to see a 2 hour show with dinner, instead of just going to an Olive Garden.  It’s embarrassing that as a company we have only sold FOUR tickets to the Rock Dinner Show at the Orlando Forum.  We don’t care which ones you sell, but SELL SOME!  ROCK, MANGOS, SLEUTH’S MYSTERY DINNER SHOW, PIRATE’S DINNER ADVENTURE, WONDERWORKS COMEDY MAGIC SHOW OR MEDIEVAL TIMES.

EMPLOYEE NOTES:
