September 16, 2016 – Volume 26.36 – GO ABOVE AND BEYOND! GET GREAT GUEST COMMENTS!

We count on each and every one of you to “Go Above and Beyond” for each of our guests and give them the kind of service that you would expect if you were in their shoes. What does this mean? SMILE and enjoy the fact that you are helping someone have the vacation of a lifetime! Even if they don’t buy tickets from you, help them in ANYWAY possible, including giving them park hours and information! You would be surprised how many people come back and buy something from you even though they don’t buy anything initially. We really want GREAT guest comments! If a guest wants to commend you on your service, please recommend Trip Advisor for your hotel, on the hotel’s comment cards, or the AGS Facebook page.

MNSSHP-300x269MICKEY’S NOT SO SCARY PARTY
You must look up the tickets by the DATE that they would like to attend. The dates for the upcoming week are 9/20, 9/23, and 9/25. As was in the past, guests who purchase our tickets can enter the park as early as 4 pm.

MAGIC KINGDOM CLOSES EARLY
When selling Magic Kingdom tickets, please remind your guests that any night there is MNSSHP, the park closes at 7 pm. Be sure to check the times guide and make sure they are aware of this.
VALUE SEASON ENDS 9/29
Don’t forget to CHARGE FOR AND PRINT THE VALUE TICKETS FOR any ONE DAY DISNEY ticket. Regular season starts 9/30.

DISNEY CONVENTION TICKETS
A reminder – Disney Convention Tickets are ONLY to be sold to guests (or their family members) that are here in a meeting or convention. How can you tell – If they are wearing a badge or a tie. They must be QUALIFIED. If you are selling them to non-qualified guests, you are jeopardizing our contract and risk us losing this privilege. Violators will be reprimanded.

hhn26HALLOWEEN HORROR NIGHTS
HHN runs on select nights that continue through 10/31. We are selling the event nights that fall between Sunday – Thursday at a discount, and any Friday-Saturday event night at regular price. As usual, your best bet is to sell the 2 or 3 Day PTP Combos. Remember, with the combo tickets, it includes ONE NON-SATURDAY visit to HHN during the 14 day period. If you have a guest wanting to purchase a 1 Day ticket and go to HHN, it’s better to have them upgrade to add the HHN while they are at the park. If you have any questions, please ask your lead or manager. Make sure you ask them if they are Florida Residents too. If they are, they can get cheaper prices online, but offer them our tickets as a convenience.

USE CORRECT UNIVERSAL STORE
For those of you on the Gifting, VIP or AGS Teams, you MUST use the correct STORE when printing Universal tickets in ITW. For instance if you are on the Vistana Team and you work at BlueTree, you CANNOT print Universal tickets in the Vistana Store. It must be the Guest Services Store. Universal uses these number and for a LOT of reasons, the MUST be correct!

CREDIT CARD FRAUD
We have had more fraud activity this week. Luckily Petra followed the correct procedures so we did not fall for it. Again, if they are buying more than 4 tickets, all members of the party must be in front of you, they must be staying at the hotel, and you must verify the room number with the front desk. They seem to be picking locations that do NOT have a PAX/EMV Chip reader. So if you are working one of these locations, be especially careful and follow these procedures. Always use the PAX/EMV chip reader for all cards with a chip.

VACATION VILLAGE SPEED TRAINING
For those of you that work at Vacation Village locations, Ana Maria is having a speed training on Wednesday at 1:30 at the Conference Room upstairs at Regal Oaks. She will be reaching out to each of you individually to attend.

September 9, 2016 – Volume 26.35 – WORK HARD FOR SALES – SLOW TIME TIPS

We know that it has gotten slow out there so we want to give you a few tips to get through September. 1) STAY POSITIVE! We have found that people with positive attitudes consistently to better with sales. Even though you may not be making the kind of money you were in July, If you SMILE and keep a positive attitude, you will make more sales than someone that is negative and doesn’t smile. 2) WORK THE LOBBY – BE A HOTEL AMBASSADOR! If you don’t have anyone at your desk, get out in the lobby and GREET the guests. Introduce yourself as the Concierge and let them know you are there to help them and you have all the tickets available. Pass out stickers to the kids too! 3) VACATION PLAN. Use the slower time to spend more time with each of your guests. Use the itinerary planners in the FunPaks/Activity Guides to help them plan their vacation and show them how to fit everything in. 4) SELL DINNER SHOWS, BLUE MAN, CIRQUE. With the parks closing earlier, these should be recommended to every guest. These are our highest profit tickets and make you the most commission!

MNSSHP-300x269MICKEY’S NOT SO SCARY PARTY
You must look up the tickets by the DATE that they would like to attend. If you see more than one set of options for that date, that means there are TWO price points – Advance Purchase and Same Day. Make sure you are selecting the HIGHER PRICED tickets for same day. The dates for the upcoming week are 9/8, 9/11, 9/13, 9/16, and 9/18. As was in the past, guests who purchase our tickets can enter the park as early as 4 pm.

MAGIC KINGDOM CLOSES EARLY
Please remind your guests that any night there is MNSSHP, the park closes EARLY. Be sure to check the times guide and make sure they are aware of this.

VALUE SEASON THROUGH 9/29
Don’t forget to CHARGE FOR AND PRINT THE VALUE TICKETS FOR any ONE DAY DISNEY ticket. Multi-day tickets ARE NOT affected.

hhn26HALLOWEEN HORROR NIGHTS
HHN starts 9/16 with select nights that continue through 10/31. If they are, they can get cheaper prices online, but offer them our

SHOPPERS ARE OUT!
We want to remind all of you that not only do we have shoppers out on a regular basis, but also the hotels. Here’s what they are looking for: SMILE; Pleasant greeting and engagement within 5 feet of the desk; knowledge about area attractions and hotel; and NAMETAG! Notice that SMILE and NAMETAG are capitalized. If you don’t have a nametage, please call the office.  They will also be purchasing tickets and getting rental cars to insure honesty and correct procedures are used.

VOIDING DISNEY TICKETS
With the switch to Activity Link and ITicket, DISNEY TICKETS CAN NO LONGER BE VOIDED IN THE OFFICE. All tickets MUST be voided through the POS at the location. Please DO NOT send shells to the office. If you get verification that the tickets were voided, throw them away. Thank you!

BE ON TIME!
Relogio07_00.svg[1]We need all of you LOGGED IN and ready to sell at 7 am. While we give a 7 minute grace, many of you are much later than that. This will be tracked and people that are habitual offenders will be reprimanded and/or terminated for poor attendance.

STILL LOOKING FOR GREAT HIRES
We are still looking for great prospects to join the AGS team! If you know of anyone that can work ANYTIME – especially NIGHTS and WEEKENDS – loves the theme parks, has a great personality and is responsible and dependable, please have them call the office to set up an interview. Remember, if you refer someone, they are hired and they stay for 90 days, you receive a $100 Visa card!

CREDIT CARD FRAUD
There continues to be a ring of people going around using stolen credit cards to purchase a large number of tickets. This is particularly dangerous for those of you who do not have a PAX/EMV chip reader at your location. If you have someone buying more than 4 tickets, you MUST have all members of the party in front of you, you MUST verify with the Front Desk that they are staying at the hotel, and you MUST check their ID to make sure the signatures match. Be especially suspicious if they want to by 9 or more Disney tickets. Great job to both Gabriel and Yolanda who did not allow someone to buy from them because they wouldn’t follow these rules!

hhn26HHN HOSPITALITY NIGHTS 9/18 & 9/22
You can go these 2 nights for $51.00 + tax.

You will “Lookup”, then go to “Disney”, then “Others”. You must look up the tickets by the DATE that they would like to attend. If you see more than one set of options for that date, that means there are TWO price points – Advance Purchase and Same Day. Make sure you are selecting the HIGHER PRICED tickets for same day. Obviously for those of you in Gifting, you will continue to print the 7 Day PTP EPA gifting tickets as needed, but your commissions will be the same as always. This goes for the “2 Days Free” ticket as well. Your commissions will not change.

For Adults, use the “Sea World Kid’s Free Ticket– A” tickets and for Kids use the “Sea World Kid’s Free Ticket – C”. You must have the SAME NUMBER of Adults and Kids in order to do this. Just like Legoland, if you have an odd amount of either, you must charge any ADDITIONAL tickets at FULL PRICE as a regular ticket sale. We should be charging full price because of the offer.

DISNEY SPRINGS TRAINING
Disney has opened the website for the online training for Disney Springs. Go to www.disneyhospitalitydays.com. You do NOT need to enter an access code. Click on the hyperlink that says “Disney Springs Frontline Training”. Please read through each module. At the end of the training you will have enter your personal information and print the Confirmation page to redeem at Disney Springs prior to October 28th.

RAIN – CHECK FORECAST
It’s important to remind your guests that it rains every day here until we get into October. Remind them that they need to plan for that in their visits to the theme parks. Also, it’s important to tell them that the tickets are non-refundable. We cannot have people coming back asking for refunds if it rains. Let them know the parks are less crowded when it rains, most attractions are indoor, and have them buy a poncho!

Relogio07_00.svg[1]BE ON TIME!
We are tracking tardies on a regular basis. While we know there are occasions that you may be late because of traffic, etc., we have far too many people late on a regular basis. We will be looking at this and habitual offenders will be reprimanded and/or terminated.

CREDIT CARD FRAUD $5000 LOST
Again, you CANNOT sell more than 4 tickets without having all members of the party in front of you. We just got $5000 in chargebacks because someone sold a large number of tickets to one person and didn’t do a chip read/EMV. Also, verify the room number with the front desk and make sure they are staying at the hotel.  Please follow the proper procedures! We cannot afford these kinds of losses!

DOLLAR RENTAL CAR CONTEST
From 8/25 – 9/6, the AGS employee with the MOST rentals (minimum of 3 to qualify) will receive a $100 Visa card and a free weekend Dollar rental! You must use CD#3024627. Anyone not using this CD# will be disqualified.

August 26, 2016 – Volume 26.33 – SEA WORLD GATE PRICE INCREASE – KID’S FREE

Sea WorldSea World has announces a GATE PRICE increase as of Wednesday, 8/24. As of now, our cost has not changed. We will be adjusting our retail rates in all the POS systems to reflect this increase, while still giving the guests discounts. This means YOU will make more money! WE CAN HONOR ALL ONLINE PRICING ON THE SEA WORLD WEBSITE, SO PLEASE DO NOT TURN AWAY A SALE! Keep in mind, that they do charge a $5.99 service charge on all of their online sales. We really need to increase our Sea World sales! So always honor any discounts that the guest brings to your attention from the Sea World website.

NO DISNEY CONVENIENCE FEES!
Remember, we are now WAIVING all convenience fees on the 1 and 2 Day Disney tickets! NO ONE should be sending people to the gate for these tickets! You can now say our prices (including taxes) are the SAME as at the gate and online. Make sure the guest knows that the total includes taxes and what they online or at the gate does not. The commissions now – especially for 2 days – are REALLY GOOD!

These prices will be valid until the spring of next year. As usual, ALL Disney Water Park tickets are “Water Park Hoppers”, which means when purchased for one day (not part of the WPF & More option), they can visit BOTH TL and BB on the same day.

FRAUDULENT CREDIT CARDS
We are getting a lot of fraudulent credit card activity again. Please keep an eye out for anyone suspicious. Here’s what you need to look out for: Anyone purchasing a large number of tickets (all members of the party should be in front of you); Using a lot of Gift Cards; not wanting to use a PIN code. Remember, we do NOT sell tickets to anyone that is not staying at the hotel. So if you have someone coming off the street to buy a large number of tickets – that’s a red flag. Always verify that they are staying at the hotel and have ALL members of the party in front of you.

ACT PROFESSIONALLY
Guys, we do we have to keep talking about this? PLEASE act professionally! Here’s what we CANNOT have: Sleeping at desk; taking shoes off at desk; leaning back in chair and propping feet up on desk; wearing sandals or flip flops; being on personal phone calls at desk; EATING at desk; EATING off the breakfast bar; using cell phones at desk; sitting in couches in hotel lobby or breakfast area with earbuds on having personal conversations on cell phones. When you have that uniform on and you are on the clock, you are representing AGS AND THE HOTEL!! Please act like it! Stop embarrassing the company or yourself! If you feel like you can’t act professionally, you need to look for a different job – like digging ditches.

August 19, 2016 – Volume 26.32 – POLICY REVIEW

We know that a large majority of you are FANTASTIC, show up to work on time, and follow all of the policies regarding breaks and lunches – THANK YOU! But it seems that we have a handful of people that feel like they can do whatever they want and have no regard for company policies. Not only are they jeopardizing their own jobs, but they are jeopardizing our contracts and relationships with the hotels that we are in. So to be clear, let’s review some of the policies: Absolutely NO eating ANYTHING behind the desk. This includes an apple, banana, yogurt, eggs, bacon, candy, gum – ANYTHING! If you have some kind of medical condition and you have to eat so often, take a 5 minute break and go to a designated break area OUT OF GUEST VIEW. Also, there is to be NO EATING OFF OF ANY HOTEL’S BREAKFAST BAR, whether they allow it or not. We constantly get calls about this. If you are someone that has to eat breakfast, go through a drive-thru and eat on your way to work. There is NO lunch break for a shift of 6 hours or less. Again, you can take a short 5 minute break to get water or coffee, but nothing more. Just this past week we got a call from a GM telling us that our employee disappeared from the desk from 10 am – 11:15 am. Everyone needs to at the desk or in the lobby greeting guests from 7 am – 11 am – NO EXCEPTIONS. This is our PEAK time and you need available to assist guests. There should be no breaks whatsoever during this time. Nametags must be worn at ALL TIMES. Please do not leave them in your car, pocket or purse. They must be worn when working. No sitting at any hotels that require our employees to stand. You cannot pull up a chair behind these locations. This is not OUR policy, but the policy of the hotel. If you have a medical condition that does not allow you to stand for periods of time, we must have a doctor’s note kept in your file. Otherwise, we expect you to work any location that you are scheduled to work.

DISNEY VALUE SEASON STARTS 8/22
A reminder that VALUE SEASON starts Monday, 8/22 and continues through 9/29. ANY SALE of ONE DAY DISNEY TICKETS must be SOLD AND PRINTED as VALUE tickets during this time. Please be CAREFUL and be sure to ASK YOUR GUEST what day they are visiting the parks. If it’s Monday or later, be sure to SELL AND PRINT THE VALUE TICKETS. Every time we have a season change, someone prints the wrong tickets. Please DON’T let it be you!

Logo_Disney-TyphoonLagoon[1]DISNEY WATER PARK TICKETS
FYI, all Disney Water Park tickets are Water Park Hoppers, meaning guests can go to both Tyhoon Lagoon AND Blizzard Beach on the same day. Although we used to have some old tickets that were only good for ONE, they are all gone. So moving forward, ALL ticket will be good for both parks on the SAME day.

Sea WorldPUSH SEA WORLD PRODUCTS
Sea World products are some of our highest profit daytime tickets and offer some of the BEST commissions. Yet our sales are down from last year. Let’s make a better effort to suggest Sea World and the combo tickets to ALL of our guests! You should be mentioning Mako and all of the great FAMILY attractions and shows. It’s also a very RELAXING park with not so many lines! Let’s get our sales back up!

AGS/VIP/GIFTING – NEW BOGO TICKET
We will be offering a special Universal 7 Day Unlimited Kid’s Free special at all non-Premier locations. For each FULL PAYING adult, we will give a kid’s ticket free! You will then print the 7 Day PTP w/Wet ‘n Wild EPA Gifting ticket for adults.

PAY CALCULATIONS
Many of you do not understand your commission breakdowns. Remember, no matter what YOU are personally getting paid per hour, it’s always based on $8.05. If you are at a rate lower or higher than that, the difference will be reflected in the commission section of the breakdown. To make sure you are getting paid correctly, you should look at the gross pay on your check stub and compare that to the total pay on your commission breakdown.

90 DAYS HEALTH INSURANCE
If you’ve received a health insurance form, please fill it out and get it back to the office ASAP! Even if you DECLINE the insurance, we must have it in your file.

August 12, 2016 – Volume 26.31 – ACT AS A PROFESSIONAL CONCIERGE

We are so appreciative of those of you who take this job seriously and who look and act in a professional manner when dealing with guests. Now we need to get the handful of you that don’t on the same page. What do you need to do? Dress professionally – For those of you on the Premier and VIP teams, JACKETS are NOT optional. They must be worn at all times and not put on the back of your chair. Shoes must be CLOSED toed and dress shoes – NO SANDALS or tennis shoes. Act professionally – This starts with getting to the location ON TIME. When you are late, it makes YOU look bad, the HOTEL look bad and AGS look bad. Unless you are greeting guests in the lobby, you need to be AT THE DESK – ready to assist. Anyone manipulating time on the POS – including altering the keyboard to stay logged in – will be terminated. We also expect you to be attentive to all guests in the vicinity of your desk. This means sitting upright and not slouching or putting your feet up on the desk, keeping your shoes on, not putting makeup on at the desk, and not eating or drinking (other than water or coffee) at the desk. We are counting on each of you to take pride in yourselves and your job.

Relogio07_00.svg[1]CALLING OUT
We’ve had an unacceptable number of people calling out lately, so let’s review the policies. Car trouble is not an acceptable excuse. If you are having car problems, get a friend or family member to take you to work. If they can’t, then we expect you to use Uber. It’s funny how people complain about not having money, but they will miss a shift and make even less money. Calling out sick. It is really a hardship on everyone when anyone calls out sick. If you are truly sick, we expect you to call a manager a minimum of 1 hour before your shift. You CANNOT text, e-mail, or leave a voicemail message. Many times we don’t get the texts or e-mails until it’s too late. If you are sick for more than 1 shift or you have a history of excessive absenteeism, you will be required to bring a Doctor’s note. Thanks to all who are always at work and on time!

SET GOALS FOR YOURSELF!large-Money-66.6-11263[1]

COMPUTER USAGE – BUSINESS ONLY
The computers are to be used for business purposes only. Many of them have data limits which slow down the response times when the limits have been reached. Downloading and playing games or downloading videos of any type is against company rules and will result in reprimand and/or termination. Nothing should EVER be downloaded without the permission of a lead or manager. Also, please make sure you LOG OFF your computer at the end of your shift. We do NOT want you to turn it off, because sometimes updates are done overnight. However we do want you to LOG OFF so that the OPC;s or guests cannot use them. If you are unsure of how to do this, please ask a lead.

NAMES ARE MANDATORY ON TICKETS
For those of you on AlDesk and ITicketPOS, we must have names on each transaction. When printing Sea World, Universal and Merlin tickets, we must have at least the LAST name on each ticket. If it’s a lot of tickets, you may use just the first initial. We need this information in case a guest calls and we can pull up their tickets.

Sea WorldSEA WORLD WITH MEAL TICKETS
We had numerous issues this past week with these tickets. As a gifting ticket, it says “2 for $140”, however when you enter this, 1 ticket is NOT good for 2 people. You must enter in the quantity the total number of people in sets of 2 with a maximum of 6 tickets per order. If you have any questions on this, please call a manager before completing the order.

CREDIT CARDS WITH CHIPS
Any card with a chip must be charged with the chip inserted and read – not swiped. If the guest uses a PIN, then it is not necessary to check ID. It they do not enter a PIN, then you need to check ID.

AGS/VIP/GIFTING – NEW BOGO TICKET
We will be offering a special Universal 7 Day Unlimited Kid’s Free special at all non-Premier locations. For each FULL PAYING adult, we will give a kid’s ticket free! The kid’s tickets will be our OLD HARDTICKET FLEX TICKETS, which will be delivered to your location along with a disclaimer because these tickets are NOT VALID for Sea World and Aquatica and ONLY good for Universal, Islands of Adventure and Wet ‘n Wild. You will then print the 7 Day PTP w/Wet ‘n Wild EPA Gifting ticket for adults.

July 29, 2016 – Volume 26.29 – MAXIMIZE SALES – VACATION PLAN!

We’ve already noticed somewhat of a decline in sales. With the slower season coming upon us, it should give you MORE TIME to spend with each of your guests. First of all, be sure to get out from behind your desk and greet guests in the lobby. Pass out stickers to the kids. When you have a guest at your desk, instead of just selling what the guest asks for, you should be using your itinerary planners to help them vacation plan. Always start with Discovery Questions like “Where are you from? How long will you be staying with us? How many in your party? What are the ages of your children? Have you visited Orlando before? What parks are you interested in? Do you have dinner plans?” All of these questions should help you determine not only what parks and tickets will be best for the family, but what is going to make YOU the most money! Write down your suggestions in the itinerary planner and be sure to show the savings available by purchasing multi-day and multi-park tickets. Don’t forget to fill in the evenings with dinner shows (after recommending the hotel’s restaurant and amenities), BMG and Cirque. Most importantly, relate your PERSONAL experiences at the particular park or attraction. Even showing personal pictures of your visits will help give you credibility. If you do this, you WILL see your commissions increase!

large-Money-66.6-11263[1]BUDGET YOUR MONEY
Again, we can’t stress enough how important it will be to set aside some of your money that your making now to get you through September. We don’t want to hear all of the complaints about it being slow and not having enough money!

NAMES ON TICKETS – MANDATORY
For those of you using the old AGS POS or ITicket, you MUST at least put the LAST NAME and first initial on all transactions and tickets! Some of you are getting lazy and only putting initials for both. We must have at least the last name in order to look up transactions if necessary. The same goes for Universal, SW and Lego tickets!

Relogio07_00.svg[1]BE ON TIME
Some of you are falling into the habit of being 20 – 30 minutes late on a regular basis. We can understand this happening occasionally if there is an accident, but we will not tolerate those of you are late regularly. We have hotel management that calls us on a daily basis when you are late. We want all of you to know that we may be closing locations during the slow season. If we have to let anyone go, the ones that are late on a regular basis will be the FIRST on our list to terminate. We keep records of all of these attendance issues, so if you are late or call in all the time, you will be at the top of our list.  For those of you who are early or on time every day – THANK YOU!

DISNEY REGULAR SEASON!
Some of you are still printing PEAK tickets and charging for REGULAR tickets. When you do this, you will be charged the difference as this is a loss for AGS.

DAY OFF REQUESTS BY WEDNESDAY
Again, any day off requests received after Wednesday for the following week’s schedule will be denied. We are working hard to get the schedule out early so we can’t be changing it when these requests come in late. Thank you!

AGS/VIP/GIFTING – NEW BOGO TICKET
We will be offering a special Universal 7 Day Unlimited Kid’s Free special at all non-Premier locations. Basically for each FULL PAYING adult, we will give a kid’s ticket free! The kid’s tickets will be our OLD HARDTICKET FLEX TICKETS, which will be delivered to your location along with a disclaimer. Because these tickets are NOT VALID for Sea World and Aquatica and ONLY good for Universal, Islands of Adventure and Wet ‘n Wild, we need to have the guest sign a paper saying they understand that. These tickets must be inventoried and counted twice daily. When you do the transaction, you will charge $329 inc. taxes for the adults and give the hard ticket for the free kid. You will then print the 7 Day PTP w/Wet ‘n Wild EPA Gifting ticket for the adults.

ITICKETPOS ERRORS
You all are doing a great job on ITicketPOS, but there is one problem we are having consistently. When you close, you are asked “Cash in drawer”. This number will include your bank. Then you are asked “Cash in deposit”. This should ONLY be what you put in your envelope and should NEVER be the same as “Cash in Drawer”. If you are not depositing anything in your envelope, put “0”. Then your next day bank will calculate correctly.

NON PREMIER & NON VIP TEAMS ONLY
We have new Disney polos for you to wear on Sundays. If you work a location that is acceptable for these, stop at the office to pick one up.

July 22, 2016 – Volume 26.28 – HOW TO MAKE MORE MONEY!

Some of you are doing a GREAT job on sales and your checks reflect that! Keep it up! Others are not doing as well as we hoped. We want all of you to look in the mirror and really evaluate if you are doing everything you can to get sales. You should be in the lobby greeting guests and passing out stickers to the kids. If a guest comes up and tells you they want to buy a 1 Day Disney or Universal ticket, you should NOT sell it until you explain all of the multi-day and multi-park options available. We have seen some of you be VERY LAZY and just sell what the guests asks for without doing this. Then the guest will come back angry when they want to go a second day to Universal and you didn’t tell them about the 2 Day ticket, or the fact that they have to have the PTP option in order to take the Hogwart’s Express. When selling Universal tickets you should ALWAYS mention Blue Man Group and offer a $10 discount if they buy them together. If someone is going to Disney Springs, you should ALWAYS suggest Cirque and DisneyQuest. ASK IF THEY HAVE DINNER PLANS AND SUGGEST DINNER SHOWS . If you have a guest going to the Orlando Eye, suggest Sleuth’s! It’s right next door and they can walk there and make a whole evening of it. These are the things you should be doing to get a better check!summer-heat[1]

PROFESSIONALISM
We want all of you to realize that there are eyes on you all the time – hotel managers, OPC managers, AGS and Expedia managers. You must present yourself in a professional manner. What does this mean? You should be attentive to guests in the lobby AT ALL TIMES. No playing games on the computers, no using your cell phones or texting while at the desk, no putting on makeup, no putting your head on the desk, slouching, or putting your feet up, no taking off your shoes at the desk, no eating, chewing gum or drinking at the desk (you may have water or coffee and drink discretely when no guests are at your desk). As a professional concierge you should be “ready to assist” at all times.

NO EATING OFF OF BREAKFAST BARS
We continue to have hotel managers complaining o us about some of you are eating off of their breakfast bars. This is FORBIDDEN and against company policy. While you may have a coffee, NO ONE is allowed to eat the hotel’s food. Please go through a drive-thru and eat prior to clocking in at work.

COMPUTER USAGE – DATA
At some of our locations, our internet provider charges us for data usage. We have to keep it to a minimum. There are to be NO playing of videos, games or downloading of any programs without the permission of a manager or lead. Not only does it use data, but it causes our computers to slow down, and many of them are slow enough as it is This will be monitored and anyone not adhering to this policy will be reprimanded and/or fired.

BENEFITS – 30 HOUR MINIMUM
A reminder that in order to maintain benefits, you must average a minimum of 30 hours weekly. This includes Health/Dental/Vision insurance, 401K and vacation pay. Working less than 30 hours will result in the loss of thesbenefits.

rain-rain-go-away-copy[1]DAILY RAIN
Please make sure that you are advising your guests that in the summer, it rains everyday here in Orlando – usually any time between 1 and 6 pm. Make sure they know this so they can plan accordingly and they won’t come back asking for refunds.

July 15, 2016 – Volume 26.27 – LET’S GIVE GREAT SERVICE – GO ABOVE AND BEYOND!

I hope you all had the opportunity to read the message sent through When to Work. You all have been hired to be professional Concierges. The job requirement is to SMILE, BE FRIENDLY, assist guests with ANYTHING they need, answer any questions they may have (and if you don’t have the answer, use all resources possible to find it), and to EXPLAIN AND SELL attraction tickets in a manner that will make the guests EXCITED about visiting the parks. If you don’t feel like you can do this EVERY day you work, then this job is not for you. We cannot afford to have people on our staff that jeopardize our relationships with our properties by “being bored and not motivated to help the guest”. Again, for those of you who continually “Go above and Beyond” for our guests and get great comments – THANK YOU!Heat-Exhaustion-Symptoms[1]

BREAKS
The hours between 7 am – 11 am are NON-NEGOTIABLE. Everyone needs to be at the desk and ready to assist guests. There are to be NO BREAKS during this time. After that time, you may take a short break if necessary. Anytime you leave the desk, you should leave a PROFESSIONAL looking sign at the desk stating WHAT TIME you will return, NOT something vague like “Back in 5 minutes”. Remember if you work 6 hours or less, you do not get a lunch break. More than 6 hours we will allow you a ½ hour lunch or dinner break, however you MUST stay on property and eat in a designate break area out of guest view. Because we pay you for this time, you cannot leave so please be prepared and bring your lunch/dinner or have someone bring it to you.

HOW TO ANSWER THE PHONE
There seems to be a lack of consistency on answering the phone properly. Because you do NOT work for Expedia, here is how we would like EVERYONE to answer the phone: “Good morning. This is __________  your concierge. How may I help you?”

NO LEAVING EARLY
With this being our peak season, we cannot allow anyone to leave early. As long as there are people coming up to the desk, you should continue to service them because you are still getting paid for your hours. So if anything, you should stay LATER if necessary. We’ve had a couple of people leaving their shifts early without permission and this will not be tolerated.

Sea WorldSEA WORLD EZ TICKET ISSUES
EZ Ticket has been experiencing issues with different tickets printing out than what has been ordered. This usually can be corrected by using a different browser OTHER THAN INTERNET EXPLORER. Be sure to double check all of your tickets when handing them over to make sure they are what the guest ordered. If not, you can usually go into “Admin” and “Manage Orders”, pull up the tickets again in a pdf format and they should print correctly.

ONLINE PRICE MATCHES
You should NEVER be losing a sale for someone that mentions an online price! We will absolutely match any online pricing offered directly by any of the attractions, with the exception of 1 Day Disney and Universal. Yes we will honor the $20 off Multi-day PTP Universal tickets. And if a guest asks about the $69 offer for Sea World – YES! We will honor it! For those of you on ITicketPOS, the price ALREADY reflects this discount. The $79 price in the system includes tax and the service charge that matches the online price. For those of you on the OLD POS, you can edit the price to $69 before taxes.

VIP – PREMIER TEAM JACKETS
If you are on either of these teams, jackets are MANDATORY and need to be worn at ALL TIMES, not on the back of your chair. Not wearing a proper uniform will lead to reprimand and/or termination. Also, sleeves cannot be rolled up on any team!

NO CELL PHONE USE AT DESKS
Just a reminder that unless your hotel has no phone service, cell phones are NOT to be used at the desk. If you have an emergency or need to make a quick call on your cell, you must step away from the desk and go to an area out of guest view.

DAY OFF REQUESTS – DUE BY WEDNESDAYS!
Part of the reason our schedule gets posted so late is because we have the schedule almost done (4 different managers work on the schedule) and then we have last minute day off requests come in. To avoid this, effective immediately, in order for your day off request to be considered, it must be received by NO LATER THAN WEDNESDAY for the following week’s schedule.

July 1, 2016 – Volume 26.15 – BUSIEST WEEKS OF THE SUMMER!

These next few weeks should be the busiest of the summer! Please be prepared. If you haven’t logged into any of the ticket stores in a while, please do so to make sure they are still active and you have the correct logins and passwords. Check your supplies and make sure you order more according to the procedures for your location. Make sure you have plenty of Disney shells, printer paper, credit card and POS rolls. Be sure to look carefully at the Disney shells for Adults and Kids. The adults are coded with a “78” and the kids with a “79”. You should have at least 3 – 4 times as many “78” shells as “79”. Get to the locations early to make sure you have time to relax and get prepared for your day. Be sure to do your “Blind Counts” for all inventoried items at the beginning and end of your shift. If you develop a line, make sure you acknowledge everyone behind the person you are helping with a pleasant “Good morning folks! I’ll be right with you!” While they are waiting, hand them a FunPak, Activity Guide, or some dinner show brochures to look through while they are waiting. By acknowledging them, this will tend to keep them from leaving your line to buy the tickets at the park. Remind them that the lines to buy tickets are long this time of year and that when purchasing their Disney tickets from us, they can set up 3 Fast Pass times in advance. Also, it’s important to remind your guests that because of it being Summer Season, they can expect longer than normal waits at the attractions. Every year we get complaints about this and people want refunds. So warn your guests in advance, and have them consider buying Express Passes at Universal.

Happy-4th-250x276[1]LEAD PROMOTIONS

We are very excited to announce the following lead promotions: Premier – Ricardo Bazan & Jenn Janiewicz, with Nicholas Harvey training; VIP – Keysha Shelby. Rachel is stepping down for GOOD reasons, and we are happy that she is staying on with reduced hours!

BE THOROUGH WITH TICKETS

When selling all tickets, be very specific about entitlements! Be sure they know WHAT PARKS are included with the tickets as well as how long they have to use them. Many people confuse Hollywood Studios and Universal Studios so be very clear and where they are and what tickets they’re included on. Be sure to READ BACK THE TICKETS OUTLOUD, so the guest can HEAR if they’ve purchased BASE or HOPPERS and they can confirm. Make sure with the multi-day Disney tickets that they know they have 14 days to use all entitlements on the tickets. Be sure to READ the UNIVERSAL tickets OUT LOUD to the guest so they can HEAR if they purchased BASE or PARK-TO-PARK tickets. Be sure they understand that any multi-day ticket that they have 14 days to use the ticket, with the EXCEPTION of the 7 Day Gifting tickets, which are only 7 consecutive days. Also, make sure you show them where the parks are on the map so they know where they are going. Be thorough with all sales!

LEGOLAND / BUSCH SHUTTLES
When selling tickets to either Busch Gardens or Legoland, make sure you are asking your guests if they want to take the shuttle. Many times over the summer these shuttles will be full, so it’s important that you offer them right away when you sell the tickets. For Legoland, do it in the ticket store. For Busch Gardens, use this web address for bookings: http://secure.mearstransportation.com/MearsExpress/BuschGardens.asp

Sea WorldSEA WORLD
With it being 4th of July weekend, Sea World is having a special concert performance by Lee Greenwood on 7/2 & 7/3 at 6:30 pm at Bayside Stadium. This is included with park admission. Reserved seating is an additional $15. Also, on the 1 Day tickets, your commissions are now higher! Great reasons to sell Sea World!

CIRQUE HIGHER COMMISSIONS!
Cirque has lowered their ticket cost to us, while keeping the retail rate the same. What does this mean? You make MORE when selling Cirque! Almost $1 more commission per ticket. Let’s suggest Cirque to every guest!
