March 16, 2018 – Volume 27.10 – CLOCKS AHEAD 1 HOUR – SPRING FORWARD!

Sunday, March 11th marks the beginning of Daylight Savings Time.  Please be sure to set your clocks AHEAD 1 HOUR before going to bed on Saturday night.  Every year we have at least 1 person late because they forgot to do this and we have to write them up.  Let’s have 100% on time this year!

NEW HIRE REFERRAL INCENTIVE

We are looking to beef up our staff before the busy Spring Break/Summer season.  Remember, if you refer someone for an interview and they are hired and stay with us for a minimum of 90 days, you will receive a $100 Visa Gift Card!  Here are the qualities that we want in looking for new Team Members:  dependable, responsible, outgoing, great personality, loves the theme parks and attractions, knows the Orlando area, and can work ANYTIME – including nights and weekends.  Also, bilingual is a plus.  If you know of anyone like this looking for a job, please forward this online application link to them: http://attractions-lodging-leisureinc.appone.com/

LEAVING (SEPARATION FROM) AGS

We want all of you to stay with AGS, grow with us and make a career with the company!  We would love to have everyone retire with AGS.  However, we know that at some point in your life, you may have to move, or an opportunity may come up that you can’t pass up.  We don’t hold that against anyone.  However, it is PROFESSIONAL BUSINESS COURTESY to give a 2 week written notice when you leave any company.  And we expect that from each and every one of you.  We want to remind all of you that if you don’t do that, or if you are fired for any reason, your last paycheck will be paid at minimum wage for hours worked only.  You will be forfeiting all commissions owed.  Please do the proper thing when leaving the company and give a 2 week written notice.

SEA WORLD TICKET CHANGES

The special offers on the 2 Visit and 3 Visit tickets has been extended indefinitely!  YEAH!!!  Effective 3/16, all multi-visit tickets will now have a 14 day usage period instead of 6 months.  In other words, it will mirror Disney’s policy and all portions of the ticket must be used within 14 days of the first date of use.  Universal remains a 7 day usage period for all portions of a multi-day ticket to be used.  Don’t forget about the Seven Seas Food Festival going on right now.  There are some great concert performance on the weekends that are included with the ticket price.

UPCOMING CHANGES IN SEASONS

We are going into busy season, so again, PLEASE ASK YOUR GUESTS PURCHASING ONE DAY TICKETS FOR EITHER DISNEY OR UNIVERSAL “WHAT DAY WILL YOU BE VISITING THE PARK?” before quoting any prices.  Disney is in “REGULAR” SEASON FROM TODAY THROUGH MARCH 16TH,  Then Disney goes to “PEAK” SEASON from March 17th – April 8th.  Universal remains in “VALUE” SEASON THROUGH MARCH 16TH.  Then Universal goes to “ANYTIME” SEASON from March 17th – April 8th.

TALK OF THE TOWN – EXCITING CHANGES COMING!

We really need to get our numbers up with Talk of the Town Restaurant Group.  It is very embarrassing the Expedia sent over 2,000 people in January and we only sent 28 from a team of 150 people.  First of all, we need to make sure ALL of you have your TOTT numbers and are using them on all referral cards and when making reservations.  If you don’t have one, please e-mail Ana Maria and she will get one for you.  Second, TOTT is developing a special $39 menu ONLY FOR USE BY ALL GUEST SERVICES EMPLOYEES for each of their restaurants.  This should be a great selling tool as the regular price of a comparable meal is more than $80.  We will be giving laminated menus to you to show your guests and new referral cards that will be exclusive for this offer.  More information will be coming soon.

BE ON TIME!

We can’t stress how important it is to be on time – even more so during the busy times.  When you are late, it makes YOU look bad, AGS look bad, and the HOTEL look bad.  Not to mention the lost sales and commissions for you.  Please get to your locations early.  Give yourself enough time to do all of your counts and count your bank.

EMPLOYEE NOTES:

Happy Birthday to Yani A. on 3/20, Ash A. on 3/16, Kelci B. on 3/12, Angelica B. on 3/21!  Congrats to Delila A. for 3 years on 3/12, Kevin M. for 1 year on 3/10, and Sheena J. for 1 year back on 3/10!

February 24, 2018 – Volume 27.8 – DISNEY – UNIVERSAL PRICE INCREASES

As you all know, Disney had a price increase on Sunday, 2/11 and Universal increased on Friday, 2/16.  All Universal tickets have  been corrected to the gate price in the POS systems.  Please become familiar with these new prices.  All Disney tickets increased with the exception of the Timeshare tickets, which gives them even a greater value.  All Timeshare/Gifting locations are getting new VIP lists that will be delivered shortly.  Remember, for Disney tickets 3 Days and higher, the online price is $20 less that what we have in the POS.  You can honor this price.  The same goes for the Universal Studios Multi-day tickets.  They are still offering a $20 discount online that we can match.  Don’t forget that for all One Day Disney sales we are in REGULAR season until 2/25, then VALUE season through March 8th.

Universal Training – Hospitality Passes

We hope that ALL of you have RSVP’d for one of the Universal Training sessions.  Remember, they are on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday next week from either 9:30 am – 11:30 am, or 2 pm – 4 pm.  Please allow yourself at least 30 minutes to park your car and walk over to the Blue Man Group theater.  If you can’t make the session you were originally schedule to be at and need to change, please e-mail Rick S. at rick@allguest.com and he will switch it to another time and get you a new parking pass.  Remember, this is your chance to get the Hospitality Pass for you and a guest so ALL of you should be attending!

Sea World Hospitality Perks

The assessment test is now open.  Here are the instructions:

1) Go to www.hospitalityperks.com
2) Underneath “Hospitality Park Perks” click on “Click Here” in yellow
3) On the next page, DO NOT ENTER YOUR E-MAIL ADDRESS! Click on “Need an Account”. I’m going to see how many calls I get about this because every year, some people don’t follow directions and they always call me saying the can’t login.
4) On the next page, enter your e-mail twice to begin the registration process. You MUST use the e-mail that is in “When to Work”. That’s the one that was submitted to Sea World
5) Fill out all of the information and you can proceed to take the Assessment Test
6) Print out the certificate to take with you to the park to get your pass

There are already some Perks events scheduled that you can take advantage of, so please do this asap and enjoy!

90 Day Goals

Everyone should have received their 90 Day Goals by now.  Please do your best to reach all of the by the end of March.  We will be a little more lenient on this first one since we started half way through February, but you still need to try your best.  The reason we are doing this is to get some of you to think “outside of the box”. Some of you are just “order takers” and don’t maximize your sales and commissions. By learning and selling some of these other products, you will see your commissions increase. That’s the idea! Be creative! For example, Luis came up with this idea: Instead of offering $20 off the Universal Multi-day tickets, offer a FREE admission to Ripley’s, which is basically the same cost. There you just knocked out your Ripley’s goal. Instead of worrying about the goals, embrace them and do your best to achieve them.

Talk of the Town

Do you want to hear something really sad? Talk of the Town will no longer host our meetings or orientations because our production is so bad. For the month of January, we had 28 people sent to their restaurants – 28!!!! Out of 150 employees, we could only send 28 people to Charley’s Steak House, Johnny’s Hideaway, Moonfish, Fishbones, or Vito’s? This is VERY embarrassing and has caused them to not support AGS because we are not supporting them. We have got to do better!  Make sure you are giving every guest the Talk of the Town Referral cards with YOUR NUMBER on them.  Make reservations through Open Table and this will help your “show” rate.  We really need to get in better favor with them again.

Rental Cars

Remember, Dollar/Thrifty/Hertz MUST be used first for all Rental Cars.  Enterprise is our backup.  Action is NOT approved and anyone using any unapproved company (including Action) will be terminated.  The only exception to not using Dollar/Thrifty/Hertz is if you have a different company in your lobby.  When booking Dollar, please use the link on the AGS Homepage.  When you get to the confirmation page, print TWO copies.  Give one to the guest and write your name on the second page and send it to the office with your paperwork.  Also, make sure you put it in the POS so we have another way to track it.

EMPLOYEE NOTES:

Please welcome Carlos Lavayen and Eugenio Velez to the AGS Team!  Happy Birthday to Tonya M. on 2/20, Ann N. on 2/19, Jared T. on 2/16, Nicole M. on 2/28, and Barbara R. on 2/24.  Congrats to Felipe for 1 Year on 2/25, Taylor K. for 1 Year on 2/18, and Michelle V. for 3 Years on 2/16!

February 2, 2018 – Attraction Focus

ATTRACTION FOCUS

Escape rooms are the newest trend for families and small groups! The concept is simple; get out of the room within a hour by solving clues and code breaking. However, all the themes make the process extra fun! Escape Company’s hardest room has to be Pandorum which puts you in outer space inside of a spaceship helping others escape before the ship blows up! Hidden Temple places you in the jungle, searching for an ancient artifact before the time runs out. Suburban Serial Killer has you and your group in a suburb trying to solve the murder mystery of who the killer in this town is. The Silent Tide room is good for up to 10 players and is pirate themed, where you are helping to break a curse!

Since we are getting into convention season, this is a great option for guests who want to do something fun after their meetings and before dinner. Escape Company is close to Black Fire, Sea Dog Brewery, and Cici’s so give your coupon referrals out along with booking their reservation for the escape room of their choice!

Prices for Discovery Cove are beginning to be low again so this is the best ticket to push and should be promoted first when talking about SeaWorld. Please check your When to Work messages regarding LEGOLAND training. We would like everyone to go to brush up on your LEGOLAND knowledge and you get 4 complimentary tickets!

Effective immediately, you will no longer print tickets for the Orlando Eye, SeaLife and Madame Toussads. They will ONLY be accepting vouchers. So you will NOT need to log in to the Legoland Ticket store to print tickets when selling these tickets. Just give the guest the voucher that is produced from the POS system and that’s all they will need. For those of you on ITicketPOS, you may need to exit the POS and log back in to have this feature changed. Legoland remains with the same system where you WILL have to log in and print the actual tickets. Please contact your lead or manager if you have questions.

You may have noticed EZticket has a fresh look and feel. For some of you; however, things may look a little out of place. Clearing the cache on your internet browser can likely resolve this. To clear your cache on Internet Explorer, press Ctrl+Shift+Del or Ctrl+Shift+Fn+Del while Internet Explorer is open. Alternatively, for the desktop version of IE you can follow these steps:
1. Open Internet Explorer.
2. From Tools (gear icon in upper-right corner, or press Alt on the keyboard and access Tools menu), select Internet Options.
3. In the General tab, click Delete under Browsing history (may be called Clear Browser History in older versions).

Gatorland’s Stompin’ Gator Off-Road Adventure

Gatorland has opened it’s newest attraction to guests visiting the parks! At the moment, we are not able to sell it (should be able to soon!) but you can reserve spots for your guests by calling the reservation line at 407-856-3226 after selling Gatorland tickets. Don’t forget to also promote the zip line attraction so your guests get the most out of their visit and you boost your commissions!

Adventure Outpost inside Gatorland

Go off-road in a buggy named after one of the three gators (Bone Crusher, Swamp Ghost, Cannibal Jake) from the park’s past, who even have shrines dedicated to them on the ride. Because this ride is bumpy, it is not for those who have neck or back problems and your guests should be in general good health to ride. The ride is located right past the train and by the zipline tower at the Adventure Outpost. Inside, guests can make reservations and purchase drinks or souveniers.

Gator Shrines

The storyline plays out that new management is trying to take over and the Gatorland staff isn’t too happy about it. Instead of sticking to the course, you veer off in another direction and get a look at the gators in a more natural habitat. The buggy drives over large hills and even at one point through a gator infested lake! This ride is great for families who want to get up close to gators and are ready for adventure. Rates are around $15 per person. Check with the Adventure Outpost for scheduled departure times.
