Attraction Focus

Have you been to Ripley’s Believe It or Not? We can get in free with a guest with our Fun Partners card. Take advantage of a visit here so when you sell to your guests, you can tell them all about it. This is a walk-through experience that takes anywhere from a hour to a hour and a half. Located on IDrive within walking distance of the Orlando Eye, your guests can enjoy sights that will dazzle and confuse them. Something that interested me while going is that they have a piece of the Berlin wall inside! Families and couples alike would enjoy a visit here. Try adding on the IDrive Experience while selling your tickets to Ripleys!

WALT DISNEY WORLD

With the new year comes new attractions! Floating mountains and bio luminescent plants can only mean one thing. We finally get to dive into Pandora with the world of Avatar opening in the summer at Animal Kingdom. Satu’li Canteen will be the main restaurant in Pandora. Guests will be able to experience two excursions that will truly push adventure to the next level. First, the family friendly Na’vi River Journey will send guests down a sacred river hidden within a bio luminescent rain forest. Their journey will end in an unforgettable encounter with a Na’vi Shaman, a figure who has a deep connection to the life force of Pandora. And second, the Avatar Flight of Passage excursion will offer the jaw-dropping experience of riding on a Banshee over the world of Pandora. Hopefully we will also get to see Rivers of Light in the summer as well.

Typhoon Lagoon is opening a new raft ride that will be the lengthiest ride in all their water parks called Miss Fortune Falls. This ride will open in the spring.

Regular ticket prices start January 4th, with Value season starting January 17-February 17. Rides closed: Kali River Rapids (Animal Kingdom) 1/3/17- 2/13/2017 and Liberty Square Riverboat (Magic Kingdom) 1/3/2017- 1/12/2017.

UNIVERSAL STUDIOS

New year, new attractions (AND WATER PARK!). Volcano Bay opens June 1st. Race Through New York with Jimmy Fallon opens in the spring. This will be a virtual reality ride with celebrity cameos all taking place in New York City. January 27-29 the park will host their annual Harry Potter Celebration which is INCLUDED with park admission.

Regular season for ticket prices start January 4th-17th, with Value season starting January 18-February 17.

SEAWORLD and LEGOLAND

Kraken will become a virtual reality coaster (Florida’s only one!) which is sure to be both scary and fun. In the summer, guests will get to see Electric Ocean which is an end of day show with bio luminescent lighting. Legoland’s LEGO NINJAGO World, a new immersive land opening January 12, 2017, features an interactive dark ride where guests can blast fire, lightning and ice with their hands. In addition, LEGOLAND Beach Retreat opens mid-2017.

Orlando Balloon Rides is offering a GREAT holiday special. They have reduced their price to $145 for Adults and $80 Children from now until January 6th. This is almost $100 off the Adult price for the weekend rate! As an incentive, they are offering the AGS Team member who sells the most (minimum of 5) a free ride for you and a guest! Let’s suggest this to ALL our guests as a special memory to be made. SELL AWAY!

ITICKET POS USERS: ITicket has reset the server to implement some fixes on the system, so everyone should be back up and running without the “freezing” or glitches. If you are still experiencing problems or slow times, please e-mail support@iticketpos.com and let them know the problem along with your site code (the number at the top of your receipts).

Happy Anniversary to Steve M.12/31 (1 year)!

(Couples would like this, too! They would just have to share their ride with another group.) Madam Tussands is throwing a holiday party as well. This is a great opportunity to sell the IDrive Experience ticket!
  • Sleuth Mystery Dinner Show is having a party including noisemakers and champagne. Call for reservations (407) 363-1985.
  • Busch Gardens has a New Years Celebration that is included with park admission. Ring in the new year with a park-wide countdown and spectacular fireworks show in Gwazi Park. With the park open until 1 a.m., your guests can make the first hour in 2017 a thrilling one!

WALT DISNEY WORLD – NEW YEARS & Closed Attractions

This is one if not THE busiest day of the year at all of the theme parks. Magic Kingdom and Epcot have both been known to close early due to being at capacity. LET YOUR GUESTS KNOW to get there EARLY because they risk the chance of not getting in. Magic Kingdom has a 360 degrees fireworks display that is amazing to see. Epcot is party central with DJs and laser light shows in World Showcase and a great fireworks display.

REMEMBER: Keep selling PEAK price tickets for any one day until Jan. 3rd. We should be giving the guests as much information as we have, so pass out the Fastpass instructions and times guides. Disney has informed us that they’ve lifted the Florida Resident Block Out Dates over Christmas. If you have any Florida Residents asking, we CAN activate the Exchange Tickets for the 3 and 4 Day Florida Residents. Rides closed: The monorail is under refurbishment and may have modified service or routes. You should check on the day of travel the best option to use. Kali River Rapids (Animal Kingdom) 1/3/17- 2/13/2017 and Liberty Square Riverboat (Magic Kingdom) 1/3/2017- 1/12/2017.

UNIVERSAL STUDIOS – NEW YEARS

Universal Studios’ City Walk is throwing a huge New Years Eve bash. While selling your (Park 2 Park?) tickets, let them know about the event. Once purchased they can enjoy an LED show, gourmet dinner, dancing, midnight champagne toast and of course FIREWORKS. They can purchase their tickets online or at the Guest Services areas in the parks.

TYPHOON LAGOON

Reminder that Typhoon Lagoon is closed 12/24/2016- 3/11/2017. Shark Reef has closed permanently. Blizzard Beach is now open.

Employee Notes:

CONVENTION TICKETS. These tickets are only to be sold to customers that are attending a meeting or convention. This can be at the hotel or one of the other convention/meeting facilities in the area. As a rule of thumb, convention tickets should never ever exceed 50% of you multi-day Disney sales (unless there is a huge citywide in town). If this ticket gets abused AGS will discontinue selling it. ATTENDANCE. From now until the end of the year it is very important that you get to work on time. Some of the parks are going to start opening at 8am and guests want to get there before the crowds do. Our peak time at the desk will be the first hour, so plan to get to work early. This week and next week only, try to get to work by 6:30am. If you get to work and clock in at 6:30am you will be paid from that time.
If you collect over 1,000 in cash, email or phone you manager immediately so we can swing by and pull the cash from your location.

Happy Anniversary to Steve M. on 12/23 (1 year)!

Happy Birthday to Caroline L. 12/26 and Debby D. 12/29!

Happy Holidays to our amazing team! Thank you for working hard this season.

Happy New Year everyone! Please be safe driving home if you are working New Years Eve. Leave early to make it on time for your shifts both New Years Eve and Day. Wishing you all a very prosperous 2017!

December 16, 2016 – Volume 26.50 – BUSY SEASON

Busy Season has arrived!

Have a line? Pass out our All Guest Services magazines. Acknowledgement goes a LONG way with guests, so a simple “Hi there, I’ll be with you shortly” will be great! Pass out stickers to children (some adults like them too!) and SMILE. Giving your guests as much information as quickly as you can will get you through your busy moments. Park maps and times guides as well as your coupon packages will keep your guests satisfied. Are you aware of the peak season dates? Disney and Universal share the same peak season of December 21-January 3rd. Cirque is blocked out for gifting December 21-January 2nd and the kids half off tickets end today (Dec. 16). If your guests are heading to the theme parks, its good to know which rides they will not get to experience due to refurbishment. Over at Islands of Adventure, Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey is closed until the 18th. Magic Kingdom’s Stitch’s Great Escape is currently closed, but can open as the park gets busier. Seaworld’s Journey to Atlantis is closed until March and Antarctica (ride) is currently only open on weekends.

WALT DISNEY WORLD – HOLIDAY OFFERINGS

qtq80-COIPl5Of course the theme parks all have something great going on for holiday celebrating. If your guests want the Disney experience but do not wish to purchase Mickey’s Very Merry tickets, talk up the other parks’ Christmas offerings. Every year, Epcot hosts the Candlelight Processional on the stage in America’s pavilion with celebrity hosts in the evenings with normally three showings. This is the first year Epcot is also offering holiday food and drinks to coincide with different cultures at six different booths (think Food and Wine on a much smaller scale). Since the Osborne lights are no more, Hollywood Studios has a new holiday projection show on the Chinese Theater called “Jingle Bell Jingle Bam!” which includes lasers, fireworks, and “snow”.  The show is at 6:45 on nights where the park closes at 7, but please advise your guests to get there early for a good spot.

UNIVERSAL STUDIOS – HOLIDAY OFFERINGS

Universal Studios kicks off their holiday celebrations on December 3rd, which includes the Macy’s Holiday Parade and Grinchmas. For some added entertainment, recommend Mannheim Steamroller, who perform Christmas classics on the stage in front of Rip Ride Rockit. Event Dates: December 3, 4, 10, 11, 17, and 18. Show time for each concert date is 7:00pm.

SEAWORLD & Legoland – HOLIDAY OFFERINGS

seaworlds-christmas-celebration-87Seaworld’s Christmas Celebration runs until December 31st. Meet Rudolph and Santa then go see the Winter Wonderland on Ice! Some of the shows will have a Christmas theme including Shamu Christmas Miracles, Elmo’s Christmas Wish, and Clyde and Seamore’s Countdown to Christmas. Legoland’s Christmas Bricktacular is going on now until Dec. 30th.
WET N WILD CLOSED WED & THURS
Wet ‘n Wild is CLOSED Wednesdays and Thursdays through 12/22, and then will be open through 12/31 at which time they will close permanently.

All Adults will be required to show their ID’s when exchanging the tickets.

BLIZZARD BEACH CLOSED TILL 12/25
When selling ANY Disney ticket that includes a Water Park, make sure you are telling your guests that ONLY Typhoon Lagoon is OPEN. Blizzard Beach is closed and will re-open 12/25, at which time Typhoon Lagoon will close.

ORLANDO MAGIC
The Orlando Magic have a few home games this week on December 18th (against the Raptors), Dec. 23rd (against the Lakers) and Dec. 26th (against the Memphis Grizzlies). Encourage your guests to root for our home team and research which areas get you the best commission. For every 10 tickets you sell, you earn $25!

UPCOMING EVENTS IN ORLANDO

It’s December and our guests are in the holiday mindset! Now is a great time to promote any and everything holiday related. Our friends over at the Pirate’s Dinner Show are doing a special holiday entrée of oven roasted turkey or pot roast now until December 31st. These are great commissions for us as well as an option for those who want a holiday meal and entertainment. Don’t forget to hand out our referrals for the outlets and malls so our guests can get deals on all their holiday shopping.

As the weeks start to pick up, you might get guests who want to avoid the theme parks all together but still have a fun time. Like Rick said last week, now is the time to brush up on those experiences you have yet to sell. Kennedy Space Center has a special event on December 22nd “Holidays in Space”. They project images onto the side of the Saturn 1B rocket in the Rocket Garden. Features include custom animation blended with historic footage of actual launches, a time-lapse video of the International Space Station and a glimpse of a future Mars habitat. The Holidays in Space show takes place December 22, 2016 through January 1, 2017, with the exception of December 25. If your guests go, remind them parking is $10. Orlando Balloon Rides is GREAT commissions for us and a GREAT morning spent for your guests. Although the ride itself can last anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour and 45 minutes, the memories made will last a lifetime. Your guests will for sure thank you when they see you next!

Employee Notes:

November 18, 2016 – Volume 26.45 – BUSY WEEK AHEAD! BE PREPARED!

This will be our busiest week until 12/17. The Florida Classis between FAMU and BCU at Camping World Stadium will bring in 60,000+ fans. Plus many people will be arriving for Thanksgiving week. Please BE PREPARED. Get to your hotel EARLY. Make sure you give yourself enough time to count your bank and do your counts. If you develop a line, be sure to ACKNOWLEDGE everyone in line with a pleasant “Hi Folks, I’ll be right with you”. If you do this, they will be less likely to leave and buy their tickets elsewhere. Give them something to look over while they’re waiting, like the FunPak, Activity Guide or dinner show brochures. Be sure to check your supplies and make sure you have plenty of DTI shells, paper, cc and POS rolls. Suggest the HIGH PROFIT tickets – 2 Day PTP Universal, Sea World, Legoland and night-time attractions.

PEAK SEASON STARTS SUNDAY 11/20
Peak season for both Disney and Universal starts Sunday, 11/20. Be sure you ASK your guests what day they will be visiting the parks. If it is for 11/20 – 11/27, be sure you are CHARGING FOR and PRINTING “PEAK” tickets.

UNIVERSAL TICKET CHANGES
Everyone should now be familiar with the changes to the Universal tickets. 1) ONE DAY tickets will now follow Disney’s pricing – Value, Regular, and Peak. For any ONE DAY BASE tickets, you must charge for and PRINT the ONE DAY BASE “Promo” ticket corresponding to the pricing period. We are now in REGULAR season, but anyone visiting NEXT WEEK (starting Sunday 11/20 – 11/27) must have a PEAK season ticket. All ONE DAY PTP Promo tickets are valid for ANY season through December 31st, so you don’t need to worry about the season for 1 Day PTP tickets. Also, continue to sell and print the 2 Day PTP “Promo” tickets until December 31st.  2) All Multi-day or Multi-park tickets that included Wet ‘n Wild have been eliminated. We will only be able to sell Wet ‘n Wild tickets by themselves. 3) All Multi-day tickets must now be used within 7 days instead of 14 days. If you have any questions, please call a lead or manager instead of making a mistake.

October 28, 2016 – Volume 26.42 – A GOOD ATTITUDE MATTERS!

We really appreciate those of you who work so hard, show up on time, do a great job in sales, act and look professional, and represent us so well. THANK YOU! But we hear some complaints sometimes that we would like to address. First of all, we want all of you to know we have an open door policy! Of course we are all busy, but if you have an issue that you would like addressed, instead of complaining to others about it, call a manager and we will set up a meeting with you. If you are not making the kind of money that you feel like you should be, take a look at yourself. Are you doing everything possible to maximize sales? Are you greeting guests in the lobby? Do you portray a positive attitude about your job and smile to your guests? Are you focusing on the right tickets to sell? If you are not doing these things, then you should be blaming yourself – not the company. When we have a brand new employee that has a great attitude making $150 in commissions on a shift, when we have an employee going into a hotel that normally “blanks” in sales and he makes $130 in commissions – this shows us that it is not the company or the hotel. Sometimes it’s the employee and the attitude that affects sales. If you feel like your sales skills are lacking, we – your leads and managers – will ALWAYS help you with this. Reach out to them to give you pointers and suggestions!

WET ‘N WILD UPDATES
Wet ‘n Wild has announced that effective immediately, they will be CLOSED on Wednesdays and Thursdays through the end of the year, with the exception of THANKSGIVING WEEK AND CHRISTMAS WEEK. October 21, 2016 – Volume 26.41 – SALES MUST IMPROVE

We have been looking at our year over year sales, and they are down substantially. This is especially true at the Premier locations. Are you doing your part to help improve sales? How can you help? Get out from behind your desk and act as the “Hotel Ambassador”. Greet guests in the lobby and on their way to breakfast. Introduce yourself as the Concierge and let them know you are there to assist them with any questions they may have and you have tickets available. Pass out stickers to the kids. Focus on the HIGH profit tickets like 2 Day PTP and higher Universal tickets, Legoland, Sea World, Florida Dolphin / Grayline Tours, Dinner Shows, Blue Man Group and Cirque. NO ONE should walk away from your desk buying 1 Day Tickets without knowing about all of the multi-day and multi-park options. But DON’T pass up 1 Day Disney and Universal tickets! We are making more commission on these now through the end of the year.

DISNEY FLORIDA RESIDENT TICKETS
Please make sure you’ve read the message sent out through When to Work. Again, we can now activate EXCHANGE tickets for 3 or 4 Days for Florida Residents and you RECEIVE COMMISSIONS! Also, when you are in the hotel, you MUST be in uniform. No one should be out of uniform behind the desk.

If they want GAME TICKETS ONLY, our leads all have access for booking the tickets. Or you can call one of the managers to assist as well.

September 30, 2016 – Volume 26.38 – DISNEY REGULAR SEASON STARTS 9/30!

Effective Friday, 9/30 through November 19th, Disney will now be in REGULAR SEASON PRICING. This affects ALL ONE DAY TICKETS. Please make sure you are selecting REGULAR tickets for any ONE Day Disney tickets printed during this period. Remember, you must ASK your guests what date they are visiting the park to make sure they are receiving the correct ticket. Otherwise they will be stopped at the front gate and be made to upgrade.

SEPARATION FROM AGS
We want each of you to stay for us long-term and make this a career. However, we know situations may come up that warrant you leaving the company. As a reminder, all we ask is that you give us a 2 week written notice when leaving the company. When you do this, you will receive a re-hire status and good references, and you will receive all commissions earned during your last pay period. If you can’t give us the respect of this notice, or you are terminated for any reason other than your resignation (theft, not following company policies, etc) you will forfeit all commissions and be paid at minimum wage ONLY for hours worked.

NO LEAVING EARLY – ASSIST GUESTS
When you have guests asking about tickets and when you close, it’s always good to tell them you start closing 30 minutes prior to the end of your shift. However, you CANNOT leave if guests approach at closing and tell them you are closed. You should never say “Sorry I’m closed”. All guests should continue to be served until there is no one left. You will be paid for your time and of course you will continue to receive commissions on any sales made. We have received some complaints about this so please make sure all of your guests are taken care of before you leave your station.

LA NOUBA UPDATE
Just a reminder that through the end of October, there will only be a ONE 6 pm show on Thursdays.

hhn26HALLOWEEN HORROR NIGHTS
HHN runs on select nights that continue through 10/31. First of all, please check the calendar! Just because the ticket says “Sunday – Thursday” DOES NOT mean the event is every night during those days! You MUST check the calendar to see what nights are available. Also, you HAVE to be honest with your guests! If they are only purchasing a ONE day ticket to the park and want to go to HHN, DO NOT sell them the HHN ticket without informing them of the upgrade available at the park at a LOWER price than what we can sell our tickets for. We’ve already had angry guests coming back because of this. Try to talk them into the 2 Day PTP Combo with HHN. Remember, with the Combos the visit to HHN has to be on any night EXCEPT for Saturday during the 14 day period of the ticket.

MNSSHP-300x269MICKEY’S NOT SO SCARY PARTY
You must look up the tickets by the DATE that they would like to attend. The dates for the upcoming week are 10/2, 10/4, 10/6, and 10/7. As was in the past, guests who purchase our tickets can enter the park as early as 4 pm.

MAGIC KINGDOM CLOSES EARLY

BE KIND TO EACH OTHER – TEAMWORK
We want you all to work as a team. Be kind to each other and help each other out. As far as leaving notes at the desk, please be professional and don’t be negative. If someone is not cleaning up before they leave, this is how you should word it “Please be kind enough to clean and organize the desk before leaving. Thanks!”

LEGOLAND CLOSED TUES. & WED.
Legoland has gone back to their slow season schedule with the park being CLOSED on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Also, the Water Park is ONLY open on Saturdays and Sundays.

CALL OUTS – LATENESS
If you are sick, you must TALK to a manager, not a lead. Talk means continue calling until you actually TALK to a manager – NO TEXTS, VOICEMAILS OR E-MAILS. We want you to work ON TIME. If you are running late because of traffic or some other reason, please call or text one of the leads.

September 23, 2016 – Volume 26.37 – KEEP A POSITIVE ATTITUDE – SLOW TIME WILL BE ENDING SOON!

We know that it is slow out there, but what can you do to increase your sales? KEEP A POSITVE ATTITUDE AND SMILE! Get out from behind your desk and greet guests in the lobby. Introduce yourself as the Concierge and let them know you are there to assist them with tickets or any questions they may have. VACATION PLAN! Since you don’t have lines, spend more time with your guests and help them vacation plan. Concentrate on the high profit tickets – Sea World, Legoland,, I-Drive 360, 2 Day PTP Universal, dinner shows and Blue Man Group. Upgrade your sales! No one should walk away from your desk with a 1 Day ticket without knowing about all the multi-day and multi-park options. Use this slow time to sharpen your sales skills!

UNIFORMS – EYES ARE ON YOU!
You all have no idea how many complaints we get on a daily basis on our staff, not only about service but also appearance. Please take pride in your job. Treat the guests how YOU would like to be treated. Give them a friendly smile and be sure to help them in ANY way possible, even if they’ve gotten their tickets elsewhere. As far as uniforms go, each of you knows what is required of you. If you come to work out of uniform, you will be sent home without pay, reprimanded and possibly terminated. NAMETAGS are mandatory and must be worn ON YOU at all times while working. If you do not have a nametag, please call the office or a lead and we will get one for you.

hhn26HALLOWEEN HORROR NIGHTS
HHN runs on select nights that continue through 10/31. We are selling the event nights that fall between Sunday – Thursday at a discount, and any Friday-Saturday event night at regular price. As usual, your best bet is to sell the 2 or 3 Day PTP Combos. Remember, with the combo tickets, it includes ONE NON-SATURDAY visit to HHN during the 14 day period. If you have a guest wanting to purchase a 1 Day ticket and go to HHN, it’s better to have them upgrade to add the HHN while they are at the park. If you have any questions, please ask your lead or manager. Make sure you ask them if they are Florida Residents too. If they are, they can get cheaper prices online, but offer them our tickets as a convenience.

SLOW TIME – CLEAN DESKS
This is the perfect time to clean and organize the desks. Please go through all materials and throw anything away that is outdated. Look at the desk from a guest’s perspective and make sure your desk is appealing and not too cluttered. When doing this, please do NOT throw away anyone’s personal items.

CREDIT CARD FRAUD
Remember, if ONE person is purchasing a large number of tickets (more than 4 to one attraction), you must have ALL members of the party in front of you, you must check ID, the guest must be staying at the hotel, and you must VERIFY the room with the front desk. Be sure to use the PAX/EMV chip reader with all chip embedded cards.
