October 30, 2015 – Volume 24.43 – FALL BACK!

Clocks[1]Sunday, November 1 marks the end of Daylight Savings Time. Please remember to set your clocks BACK 1 hour before going to bed Saturday night. We get an EXTRA HOUR OF SLEEP. YEAH!!!!

Disney_very_merryMICKEY’S VERY MERRY XMAS PARTY
We will be carrying MVMCP Hard Ticket (Pre-Activated) inventory for the following dates: 11/8, 11/10, 11/12, 11/13, 11/15, 11/17, and 11/19. These are located in the POS in Miscellaneous Special Events. Our HARD tickets for these dates will be valid EVEN if it’s SOLD OUT. As was with MNSSHP, when these dates are past, we will still be able to sell the additional dates through an AGS Manager as long as the event date is not sold out.  Also, our guests will be able to enter the Magic Kingdom as early as 4 pm with our tickets.

HOLIDAY DAY OFF REQUESTS
We will not be accepting any requests for holidays off, including Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day. What we will be doing is passing around a signup sheet to each of you to put down your PREFERENCES in order of what time off you would like for those holidays. We will then do our best to accommodate them, while also looking at seniority. Please do NOT request any of these days off in When to Work or they will be denied. Again, the holiday periods are our BUSIEST times of the year, and this is when you make the most money, so we need all of you to work.

magiclogoORLANDO MAGIC BOOKINGS
First of all, don’t forget that we have 2 seats available in Terrace B, Section 111, Row 8, for each game. If you have a guest wanting other areas, please call an AGS manager and they will book them for you and put the actual tickets in DropBox for you to print out and give to the guest. DO NOT call the Orlando Magic directly anymore. If you do that, the guest will have to go to Will Call to pick up the tickets and we don’t want that.

Logo_Disney-TyphoonLagoon[1]BLIZZARD BEACH CLOSED TILL 1/3
Please be sure to tell your guests this when selling Water Park tickets.  Typhoon Lagoon remains open through 1/2/16.

AQUATICA 50% OFF
This is a special offer that is available only online and NOT at the gate. If your guest mentions it – or if you are printing off the VIP list at any of the Vistana desks – you must print the 50% off tickets in EZ Ticket as well. If the guest doesn’t mention the offer, please sell the regular Aquatica tickets because you make almost DOUBLE the commission on the regular tickets than the 50% off tickets. Yes, you can sell the 50% off tickets at the regular price and make even MORE commission, but you have to be careful because the actual ticket when printed reads “50% Off Offer” so if your guest sees that, they may complain.

END OF DAY PAPERWORK
Effective immediately, we want BOTH the Disney and Universal EOD reports attached to your paperwork. Here’s what we want you to do: Print the Disney End of Day report on the BACK of your log sheet; print the Universal EOD on a separate page, and print the Product Sales Report on the BACK of the Universal report. Staple the Universal and POS report to the BACK of your log sheet with the POS report facing OUT. Be sure to MATCH up all your tickets. We continue to have extra Universal tickets printed that YOU need to return yourself. If you have too many tickets printed, run your DETAIL report and RETURN the FIRST SET of any duplicates.

ORLANDO EYE IS NOW OPEN
The Orlando Eye has been fixed and is available for ticket sales. Feel free to sell any tickets that include the Orlando Eye. Remember, these tickets are in the LEGOLAND GUEST SERVICE ticket store to print.

3 PARK BUNDLES
We now have 3 Park Bundles in the POS. These are designed to encourage guests to buy additional tickets when purchasing a 1 Day Disney ticket. When a guest asks to buy a 1 Day Disney, you should always ask “Are there any other parks you will be visiting?” and then go into your pitch for the 3 Park Bundle. These are available for ALL of you to sell! Basically they are priced to waive the convenience fee when bundling the tickets together.

PUSH HIGH PROFIT TICKETS!
Magic, Dinner Shows, BMG, Cirque, Sea World parks and Legoland will make you the most money!  Let’s really try to push these parks!

BALANCE TABLE CALCULATOR
For those of you having trouble with your Balance Table, in Drop Box there is a worksheet that can help you. All you do is fill in the white boxes with your starting bank, ending bank, and sales and it will help you calculate your deposit. Try it!

READ EACH TICKET OUT LOUD
We are having far too many careless mistakes made. Many of these mistakes could be avoided by reading EACH ticket out loud to the guest as you pass them over. In ONE DAY, we’ve had guests getting BLANK Disney shells, and guests who paid for Universal PTP tickets and have received BASE tickets. Please be more careful. Remember, you must get to the “Congratulations” page for Disney and be able to “Print Guest Copy”.

BATCH OUT CREDIT CARD MACHINES
We still have a lot of deposits coming in without the credit card sales being settled. Please call a lead if you are unsure of how to do this.  If you haven’t gotten to a final slip that reads “Settlement Successful”, then you haven’t completed your batch out.

ARMANDO’S VACATION
Armando will be on vacation from 10/31 – 11/9. Please call any other managers for help during this time. He will be on a cruise and out of cell phone contact from 11/4 – 11/8. Thank you!

INCENTIVES
Discovery Cove – From 10/23 – 11/30, sell a minimum of 10 and receive DOUBLE commission retro to the first one sold.

Employee Notes: Happy Birthday to our owner – Linda Piesko on 10/31, Mahvash on 10/31, Delza on 11/6, Juan on 11/5, and Evelyn on 11/2! Congrats to Shannon for 1 year on 10/9 and Andrea for 7 years on 11/2!

October 23, 2015 – Volume 24.42 – YOU MUST ASK YOUR GUESTS QUESTIONS

Part of the way to become a good sales person is to ASK QUESTIONS! Not only discovery questions like “Where are you from? Have you visited before? What parks are you interested in visiting? Do you have any children with you? What are their ages?” but you need to also ask questions that lead to more upgrades. If a guest asks for Sea World tickets, you should always say “Would you like to add Aquatica and Busch Gardens for an additional $24? If you do this, you will be saving $132 over buying them separately”. The normal one day price for Sea World is $95. The SW/BG/AQ combo is $119 + tax. This is SO IMPORTANT because just today we had someone buy Sea World yesterday and come back to buy Busch Gardens TODAY! They were very upset when they found out they could have bought a COMBO but weren’t told about this. Make these questions a part of EVERY pitch!

GIVE PARK HOURS FOR TICKETS SOLD
Another guest issue we’ve had is our staff NOT TELLING guests when parks close, particularly when they close early for HHN or MNSSHP. Before selling tickets to the Magic Kingdom or Universal, be sure to check the closing hours. If it’s the day of an event, MAKE SURE YOU TELL THE GUEST THAT THE PARK WILL BE CLOSING EARLY.

MANDATORY MEETING VISTANA TEAM
There will be a MANDATORY 1 hour meeting on Tuesday, 10/27 from 3 – 4 pm at SVR in the Hibiscus room for ONSITE team members only. If you are working or have worked at either SVR or SVV, you are required to attend. The managers will be staffing the desks during this team. Questions? Please e-mail Armando.

UNIFORMS
We have new shirts in. If you do not have the proper size or never got your shirts, please call the office to set a time to come by. Also, please make sure you are wearing your nametags at all times.

CALLING OUT SICK
We want all of you to know what a hardship it is when you call out sick. Please do not take advantage of us.  Only call out if you are truly sick. If you wake up sick, we are changing the policy to NOT call out more than 1 ½ hour before the start of your shift. If you are working a PM shift, call as soon as possible. Remember, you must TALK to a manager – NO VOICEMAIL, NO TEXTS, NO EMAILS. If you do not talk to a manager, you will be considered a No Call/No Show and you will be terminated.

SECURITY – SAFES / DEPOSITS
We have had 3 situations this week where safes have been left open, banks have been left on desks, and deposit envelopes have been left out. Please double check everything before leaving the location to make sure everything is properly locked up and secured. Thanks!

ANSWERING PHONES
The phones must be answered. Even if you are with a guest, please excuse yourself, answer the phone and ask “Can you hold please?”. We are getting too many complaints about the phones not being answered and getting kicked back to the operators. So please do your best to answer them.

REFER ALL GUESTS TO OPC FIRST
Don’t forget that before selling tickets, you MUST send all guests to the OPC first. Ask them if they’ve heard about the special offers and let them be pitched first. We MUST adhere to this policy to maintain our relationship with our timeshare partners.

ORLANDO EYE CLOSED
The Orlando Eye is still down. Please do not sell tickets to guests for that attraction until further notice. We will send out a message as soon as we find out it’s back up for good.

MICKEY’S NOT SO SCARY – MNSSHP
All remaining dates are SOLD OUT. We cannot sell any additional tickets.

halloween-horror-nights-25-QbwsHALLOWEEN HORROR NIGHTS
The 2 Day PTP Combo w/HHN is the best profit ticket so push it! Remember, this ticket does not include Saturday nights. If a guest ONLY wants a 1 Day admission to Universal with HHN, sell them the 1 Day Ticket and have them upgrade at the park for HHN.

INCENTIVES
Discovery Cove – From 10/23 – 11/30, sell a minimum of 10 and receive DOUBLE commission retro to the first one sold.

Employee Notes: Congrats to KB for 1 year on 10/24, Kelci for 5 years on 10/28, and Rick S. for 25 years on 10/29! Happy Birthday to both Karina and Janette on 10/27!

October 16, 2015 – Volume 24.41 – GREAT JOB THE PAST TWO WEEKS!

We want to thank everyone that come over from Starwood as well as all of the current AGS employees who helped out the last two weeks to get us through this transition. Every day things get easier and better and it’s because of the patience and great attitudes you all have. Now everyone is getting used to the paperwork and POS, let’s start really working on sales and increasing your commissions by selling and up selling the best tickets!

DO YOU WANT HIGH COMMISSIONS?
Here are the tickets to focus on: Disney – 4 Days and higher with at least ONE option; Water Park tickets; DisneyQuest; Cirque du Soleil; Universal – 2 Day PTP and higher; Blue Man Group; Sea World – ALL Sea World products; Discovery Cove; Legoland – All Merlin tickets including I-Drive 360 attractions; Legoland; All Dinner Shows; All Sporting Events including Orlando City, Orlando Magic and Tampa Bay Bucs. If you focus on getting your guests into these tickets, you will see your checks increase!

PAY STRUCTURE – PAY RATES
Your pay is confidential and should never be discussed with any other employees. In PayChex and on your pay stub, everyone receives $8.05 per hour. Any variances to this rate are reflected in the commissions that you receive. You should always add your hourly pay and your commissions TOGETHER and divide by the number of hours worked to get your average hourly pay. Laura has worked VERY hard these past 2 weeks to make sure everyone was paid correctly. We have done everything possible to make sure it’s right. If mistakes were made, please be understanding and kind and e-mail Laura through When to Work and she will address it and correct it if necessary.

DON’T FORGET CONVENTION TICKETS
Remember if you have anyone here on a convention or business meeting, you can offer them the convention tickets.  We carry the After 4, After 2, and 2 Day After 2 tickets.  They are located in the POS in Category 14 – Hard Ticket Inventory.

orlandocityORLANDO CITY TICKETS
The next home match is Friday, 10/16 at 7:00 pm against the NYCFC. You may wear your Orlando City shirts on Friday, or Thursday if you are off on Saturday. There are only PLAZA LEVEL seats available. Please call Marc 407-506-7692 if anyone would like PLAZA LEVEL seats.

READ EACH TICKET OUT LOUD
We are having far too many careless mistakes made. Many of these mistakes could be avoided by reading EACH ticket out loud to the guest as you pass them over. This is a LAST CHECK to make sure the guest is getting the correct tickets. In ONE DAY, we’ve had guests getting BLANK Disney shells, guests getting the wrong Disney tickets, and guests who paid for Universal PTP tickets and have received BASE tickets. Please be more careful. Remember, you must get to the “Congratulations” page for Disney and be able to “Print Guest Copy”.

SEA WORLD W/MEAL GIFTING TICKET
For those of you that gift this ticket, it must be done is sets of TWO. If you have a family of FOUR, you must enter “2”, add to cart, print tickets, and then go back and enter “2” more following the same procedure. One ticket is NOT good for TWO people. You must print TWO tickets for TWO people.

BATCH OUT CREDIT CARD MACHINES
Please make sure you “BATCH OUT” your credit card machines at the end of your shift. You should be running the “Detail Report” and then hit “Close”. You should see “Settlement Successful” on the last slip for the machine to be closed.

LEGOLAND BOGO’S
These are GIFTING tickets where the guest gets an Adult at FULL PRICE and they get the kid’s ticket free. When entering this in the Legoland gifting store, you MUST enter the SAME NUMBER OF ADULTS AS KIDS TICKETS. Some of you are ONLY entering the Kid’s free tickets. This is not right. You must enter the SAME NUMBER of adults. If you have any additional odd tickets, THEN YOU LOG OUT OF THE GIFTING STORE AND PRINT THEM IN THE GUEST SERVICES STORE. If you are unclear on this, please call a lead.

PRINTING WET ‘N WILD TICKETS
Wet ‘n Wild tickets are in the POS under Category 14 – Hard Ticket Inventory. To print them, you must log in to the POS Reports in the left column of the AGS Homepage. Then click on “Wet ‘n Wild” and then click “New Tickets” and then put in the TOTAL number of tickets needed (children also get adult tickets), enter the names and click “Print” ONLY ONCE. It will take about 10 seconds for the tickets to populate so be patient.

MNSSHP-300x269MICKEY’S NOT SO SCARY – MNSSHP
We do sell MNSSHP ticket, but we charge a service charge. The advantage of getting them from us is that they go right to the turnstiles (not Will Call) and they can enter as early as 4 pm. 10/29, 10/31 and 11/1 are all SOLD OUT. Please call a manager to book these tickets and you will print them directly out of DropBox.

halloween-horror-nights-25-QbwsHALLOWEEN HORROR NIGHTS
Don’t forget to suggest HHN to your adult guests!

Sea WorldINCENTIVES
Sea World – From 9/23 until 10/18, for every $1000 in Sea World revenue you will get a drawing ticket. On 10/19, we will do 3 drawings for a Howl-O-Scream Fright Fest package!             Discovery Cove – From 10/23 – 11/30, sell a minimum of 10 and receive DOUBLE commission retro to the first one sold.

Employee Notes: Congrats to Antonio for 1 year on 10/18 and Kyle for 1 year on 10/22!

October 9, 2015 – Volume 24.40 – HALLOWEEN HORROR NIGHTS REVIEW

halloween-horror-nights-25-QbwsIf a guest asks about Halloween Horror Nights, here’s the process: Ask if they will be visiting the parks during the daytime as well. If they are, try to talk them into the 2 or 3 Day PTP Combos with HHN. With these tickets, they get either the 2 or 3 Days to both Universal and Islands of Adventure and ONE visit to HHN on ANY night they are running HHN during the 14 day period EXCEPT FOR SATURDAYS. If they only want to go ONE day to the parks – It is cheaper for the guest if you sell them the regular 1 Day park ticket and have them buy the “Add On” inside the park for HHN. If they ONLY want to go to HHN – check the event nights for which night they want to go to make sure they are operating and sell them the ticket for either Sunday – Thursday or Friday – Saturday. Please call a lead or manager if you have questions.

FOR THE FORMER STARWOOD FOLKS
We want to thank all of you for your patience. We know it’s taking some getting used to for our POS system, and it seems like it takes a long time to process transactions for many of you. But we are confident that as you get more familiar with it, you will become much quicker and more comfortable with the process. The good news is that we are moving to a system in the next couple of months that will be similar to your old POS system! So hang in there and it will get better! Please keep a positive attitude and please do not complain to co-workers about the paperwork. Word is getting to management that you guys are complaining a lot and it doesn’t come across well. We are doing our best to help you all through this and make it easier – and it will get easier. If you are still having issues, do not complain to the resort staff, but let Cindy or Armando know and we will get someone to work with you.  Thanks!

Logo_Disney-TyphoonLagoon[1]BLIZZARD BEACH IS CLOSED
We had conflicting information, so to clarify; the Disney Times & Information is incorrect. Blizzard Beach is closed through January 2nd, 1016 and Typhoon Lagoon remains open. Please make sure anyone that purchases Water Park tickets or the Water Park Fun & More options is aware of this.

magiclogoORLANDO MAGIC TICKETS
Remember, we have 2 company tickets in Terrace B, Section 111, Row 8, Seats 13 and 14 on the aisle next to Section 112. If you need these tickets, call Rick S. or Kymry. For all other tickets, call Marc or any manager to book. You will no longer call the Magic directly. We will be able to access all available tickets. You will put it in the POS and CHARGE the guest. Once we book the tickets, we will put them in Drop Box and you will be able to print them out and give the guest the actual tickets. They will no longer need to go to Will Call. The next home game is Tuesday, October 13 vs. the Miami Heat at 7pm.

ANA MARIA OUT 10/2 – 10/12
Ana Maria will be gone from 10/2 – 10/12. Please call any other manager during this time. Kymry will be doing the check-ins every morning except for Sunday. She will be back to work on 10/13

HARD (PREACTIVATED) DISNEY TIX
All Disney Water Park, DisneyQuest, and After 4, After 2, and 2 Day After 2 Convention tickets are all pre-activated. They do NOT need to be swiped. These tickets must be counted and verified twice daily – at the beginning and end of your shift. When selling them, please put the total amount sold during your shift in the “Sold” column and be sure to subtract them from your starting inventory to get your ending counts.

COUNTERFEIT $100’S CIRCULATING
Please use the counterfeit pens and check the security features on all $100 bills.  Look at When to Work Message that was sent out if you are unsure about how to check for the other security features.

PHONES MUST BE ANSWERED
We know that if you have a line, you may not be able to get to the phone calls. But please just answer it and ask for the guest to please hold.  This has been requested by the management of both Vistana Resort and Vistana Villages.

ORDER SUPPLIES FOR THE WEEKEND
Please make sure you order any supplies needed for the weekend by 3 pm Friday. This is especially important for any Visa cards, hard ticket inventory, or Disney shells that you may need. Use the link in the left column of the AGS Homepage.

FOR DISNEY TICKET ACTIVATION, YOU MUST GET “CONGRATULATIONS” PAGE
When activating Disney tickets, you must get to the “Congratulations” page and be able to “Print Guest Copy”. If you do not see this, the tickets are not active.

PLEASE READ EACH TICKET OUT LOUD TO THE GUEST AS YOU HAND THEM OVER                     This is your LAST chance to check for any mistakes so please take 30 seconds and read EACH TICKET OUT LOUD to the guest as you hand them over.  We’ve had multiple problems this week with guest’s getting blank Disney shells and also guests buying Universal Park-to-Park tickets and getting Base tickets.  When you read EACH TICKET on the Disney Congratulations page OUT LOUD, this prevents errors, as does reading each Universal ticket to the guest.

MNSSHP-300x269MICKEY’S NOT SO SCARY – MNSSHP
We can now book all dates in October. There are 2 rates – Fridays (and 10/29) and SAME EVENT DAY PURCHASES – and Sunday – Thursdays. When you quote the prices, you must say “Including the service charge, the price is….” We cannot book for a sold out night (like 10/31). They will be non-refundable, and as of now, only the managers will be able to book these and put the actual tickets in Drop Box for you. They will not have to go to Will Call to get the tickets.

Sea WorldINCENTIVES
Sea World – From 9/23 until 10/18, for every $1000 in Sea World revenue you will get a drawing ticket. On 10/19, we will do 3 drawings for a Howl-O-Scream Fright Fest package that includes: 2 admissions to Howl-O-Scream; 2 Fright Feast Buffet tickets that includes Early Access to the Houses, and 2 VIP Front of the Line Access Passes. If the winner can’t attend, we will offer a $100 gift card instead. Sell all Sea World products to maximize your chances!                                                           Discovery Cove – From 9/23 – 11/30, sell a minimum of 10 and receive DOUBLE commission retro to the first one sold. DCO includes 14 days of SW/AQ tickets!

October 2, 2015 – Volume 24.39 – WELCOME STARWOOD!

We are very excited to welcome Sheraton Vistana and Starwood as a partner and we welcome the entire staff that has joined the AGS team! We know that this is a difficult time, but we are here to help you and make this transition as smooth as possible. We’d also like to welcome Cindy Fuller, as an addition to the management team. Cindy will eventually be over all of the gifting teams! We know there will be some bumps along the way, but we will all get through it together. Again, WELCOME ABOARD!

ANA MARIA OUT 10/2 – 10/11
Ana Maria will be gone from 10/2 – 10/11. Please call any other manager during this time. Kymry will be doing the check-ins every morning except for Sunday.

RUMOR CLEAR UP
Vendors are spreading some rumors out there so we want to clear everything up. Armando has already met with the Gifting Team, so they are already aware of this. Diamond is taking back all of the ticketing at their resorts and training their OPC’s to sell tickets. They are starting with Liki Tiki on Wednesday, 10/7 and will go one by one with the slower resorts first, with a final target date of mid-December for Mystic Dunes. This is ALL very fluid and could change. The executives even admitted that if they see it is not working, they may ask AGS to come back into the resorts. What does this mean to you all? Nothing. You will still have your jobs with AGS. We have been short-staffed for so long that we intend on keeping all of you. We have more properties coming online so we should have a place for everyone.

WORKING WITH OPC’S – FIRST SHOT
Just a reminder that OPC’s get the first crack at every guest. If a guest comes to you first, you must say “Did you hear about the specials?” and refer them over. Make sure they are referring them back to you to sell tickets if they don’t qualify or they don’t book them. Please try to work well together and everyone can make money!

halloween-horror-nights-25-QbwsHALLOWEEN HORROR NIGHTS
Let’s really try to get our guests into the 2 Day PTP w/HHN. The commission on this ticket is almost $10! So if anyone comes up asking about HHN, ask them about going to the parks during the day as well. Remember, with this ticket they can go to Universal and Islands of Adventure with PTP access for any 2 days during a 14 day period. They get ONE NON-SATURDAY HHN admission anytime during this 14 day period. Please make sure they know that they CANNOT do HHN on a Saturday!

READ TICKETS OUT LOUD TO GUEST!
We continue to have problems with guests getting the wrong tickets, particularly with Universal Studios. PLEASE read each ticket OUT LOUD to the guest and review them on the receipt as well.

MNSSHP-300x269MICKEY’S NOT SO SCARY – MNSSHP
First of all, hard tickets should no longer be at the locations. Those tickets were ONLY valid for dates in September. We can now book all dates in October. There are 2 rates – Fridays (and 10/29) and Sunday – Thursdays. Because we make no money on these tickets, we had to add a service charge, so when you quote the prices, you must say “Including the service charge, the price is….” All of these dates are subject to being sold out, and unlike the hard tickets, we cannot book for a sold out night (like 10/31). They will be non-refundable, and so of now, only the managers will be able to book these and put the actual tickets in Drop Box for you. They will not have to go to Will Call to get the tickets.

UPGRADE TICKETS
Let’s make sure we are asking discovery questions like “How long are you staying?” to try to get the best tickets sold. No one should walk away with One Day tickets without being explained the multi-day options and advantages of buying them.

DON’T FORGET CONVENTION TICKETS
Remember if you have anyone here on a convention or business meeting, you can offer them – and their families – the convention tickets. These are GOOD profit tickets and can help during the slow time. Make sure they are qualified!

Sell all Sea World products to maximize your chances!                                                            Discovery Cove – From 10/23 – 11/30, sell a minimum of 10 and receive DOUBLE commission retro to the first one sold. Remember, Discovery Cove is all inclusive and includes 14 days unlimited use of Sea World and Aquatica!

Employee Notes: Congrats to Liliana for 8 years on 10/5! Happy Birthday to KB on 10/3 and Shannon on 10/9!

September 18, 2015 – Volume 24.37 – MANDATORY MEETING AT SEA WORLD

Sea WorldOur next MANDATORY MEETING will be Wednesday, 9/23 at 2 pm at Sea World. We are doing it the same day as the “In The Know” Tradeshow so all of you can visit the tradeshow before or after the meeting. Let the parking attendant know you are there for the tradeshow at Ports of Call and you will not have to pay. Lunch will be served at our meeting and you will be paid for the meeting time. We will also be introducing an exciting new revenue incentive at the meeting!  So, unless you are at a location that cannot be closed, we expect to see all of you there!

MNSSHP-300x269MICKEY’S NOT SO SCARY HALLOWEEN PARTY (MNSSHP)
Here are the ONLY remaining dates we can sell: 9/18, 9/20, 9/22, 9/25 and 9/27. THAT’S ALL for these tickets. Disney had decided not to give us any discounted rates this year, so the ONLY money we are making on these tickets is the service fee. The advantage with our tickets is that the guest can get into the park as early as 4 pm through a specially designated turnstile (usually on the far right or the far left). The other big advantage with our tickets is that EVEN IF THE EVENT IS SOLD OUT, OUR TICKETS WILL STILL BE VALID. They are located in the POS in Category A19, Miscellaneous Special Events. If you get any push back about the services fees, they CANNOT be waived because we will be making $0. So give the guest the advantage of being able to enter at 4 pm and have no line Otherwise they will have to buy them online and wait at a Will Call window to pick up the tickets. Kid’s tickets are in and will be distributed tomorrow.

SEPARATION FROM AGS
Just a reminder about our written policy – when you leave AGS, you should always give a 2 week written notice. Anyone leaving on bad terms (not giving proper notice, termination for theft, not following procedures, no call – no show, or any other reason for being terminated) will forfeit any commissions earned on the last paycheck and only get a check for the hours worked at minimum wage. So be sure that you give proper notice and don’t get fired!

CIRQUE DARK NEXT WEEK
La Nouba will be DARK from 9/20-9/28. Shows will resume on 9/29. During this week, BE SURE TO SUGGEST BLUE MAN GROUP INSTEAD!

halloween-horror-nights-25-QbwsHALLOWEEN HORROR NIGHTS
HHN starts its 25th year next weekend. Once again, our tickets are geared to Non-Florida Residents and we are selling Sun-Thurs tickets, Fri-Sat tickets and 2 and 3 Day PTP Combo tickets. The COMBO tickets have the best value and allow for ONE NON-SATURDAY HHN visit during the 14 day period of the ticket. If you have guests visiting the regular park for the day, they can purchase an add-on ticket inside the park at a price that we cannot match. The tickets are in Category 19 in the POS. Please call a lead if questions.

READ TICKETS OUT LOUD TO GUEST!
We continue to have problems with guests getting the wrong tickets, particularly with Universal Studios. PLEASE read each ticket OUT LOUD to the guest and review them on the receipt as well.

WORK HARD FOR SALES
We need all of you to focus on sales during this slow time. Get out from behind the desk, mingle in the lobby and breakfast room greeting people, pass out stickers to the kids and introduce yourself as the concierge. Focus on the high profit tickets like Sea World, Legoland, 2 Day PTP and higher Universals, Blue Man Group, Cirque, and dinner shows.

CLEAN UP DESKS
Take this opportunity to do some fall cleaning at your desks. Get them cleaned and organized and throw away any outdated materials. Get on the other side of your desk and look at it from a guest’s perspective. If it looks too cluttered, take some stuff down, but leave up the stuff that makes you the most money. If you come across personal employee items, do not throw them away.

DON’T FORGET CONVENTION TICKETS
Remember if you have anyone here on a convention or business meeting, you can offer them – and their families – the convention tickets. These are GOOD profit tickets and can help during the slow time. Make sure they are qualified!

AQUATICA 50% OFF TICKETS
These tickets are only available online (not at the gate) and should ONLY be offered if the guest mentions it because you make less commission. Read Armando’s WTW message to see how to package it with the Banana Beach ticket. Basically you charge for the regular ticket, but print the 50% off and give the Banana Beach dining with it as an added bonus.

EXCITING NEW LOCATIONS COMING!
Armando has been working on acquiring some new locations, so keep a positive attitude! More info to come!

LABOR DAY INCENTIVE
We had 8 people reach the goal and qualify for the CASH bonus: Valerie – $65; Jason – $64; Anne – $59; Rafael – $59; Omayra – $52; Carlos – $30; Leah – $16 and Dawn – $16. Great job!

INCENTIVES
Kennedy Space Center – From 8/3 – 9/27, for every $100 in KSC sales, you will receive ONE raffle ticket. On 9/28, we will do a drawing and the winner will receive: A Two Night Stay at the Country Inn & Suites in Cocoa Beach; dinner for 2 at Fish Lips in Port Canaveral, and an airboat ride for 2 at Midway Fish Camp.

September 11, 2015 – Volume 24.36 – WE ARE SERIOUS

We think that some of you are not taking us seriously when we say we have ZERO TOLERANCE for theft and that we have secret shoppers out checking on honesty all the time. We don’t care if you are a manager, a lead, or someone that’s been with us for 10 years, you will be fired for manipulating sales and stealing. You will also be fired for not following the correct procedures for rental cars or accepting cash without it going through the office. The only exception is if a guest gives you a DIRECT tip for good service.

REFERRALS – APPROVED VENDORS
We are also having shoppers check to make sure the correct procedures are being followed for referrals. Remember, you can only hand out referral cards to vendors that are on our “Approved Vendor” list, and we ENCOURAGE you to do this for EVERY GUEST. Use the referral cards as an “added value” for your guests to get discounts on area restaurants and shopping. Of course if your guest wants a reservation for a specific restaurant that is not on our Approved Vendor list, you need to help them with that and give good Guest Service, but you cannot pass out referral cards for that unapproved vendor.

Sea WorldMANDATORY MEETING 9/23
Our next MANDATORY staff meeting is Wednesday, 9/23 at Sea World. We are doing it in conjunction with the VS Tradeshow on the same day at Sea World.  So we want all of you to attend the tradeshow AND the meeting.

HOTEL AMBASSADORS
During the slow time, it is SO CRITICAL that all of you get out from behind the desk and greet people in the lobby and breakfast room. Pass out stickers do the kids, introduce yourself as the concierge and tell them to come over to get restaurant and shopping coupons.

VACATION PLAN
Everyone should be using the itinerary planner in the FunPak to help your guests vacation plan. You should have plenty of time now to spend with your guests and show them how they can fit everything in, especially the high profit tickets.  With the parks closing earlier, be sure to schedule in dinner shows, Blue Man Group and Cirque.

BUNDLES – FLEXTICKET REVIEW
We have a lot of mistakes being made with the types of tickets printed for the bundles and FlexTickets. Here is a review:
4 Park Bundle:
This is a ticket CREATED by AGS. It allows the guest to get a more affordable ticket that ONLY gives ONE VISIT TO EACH PARK. Here’s what you print:
Universal – 2 Day BASE Tickets (NOT Park-to-Park)
Sea World – Sea World/Aquatica COMBO Tickets (NOT Length of Stay).
5 Park FlexTicket:
Since this is sold at Universal and Sea World, our tickets MUST match what they offer and give 14 days UNLIMITED USE (from the first date of use) of all parks included, meaning for those 14 days, they can visit all parks as many times as they want.
Here’s what you print:
Universal – 3 Park UNLIMITED. What 3 parks are included? Universal, Island’s of Adventure and Wet ‘n Wild. This ticket allows park-to-park access on the same day to ALL 3 PARKS. You do NOT print any additional tickets.
Sea World – Sea World/Aquatica LENGTH OF STAY
6 Park FlexTicket
Again, since this ticket is sold at Universal and Sea World, we must match what they offer and give 14 days UNLIMITED USE (from the first day of use) of all parks included, meaning for those 14 days, they can visit ALL 6 PARKS as many times as they want.
Here’s what you print:
Universal – 3 Park UNLIMITED.
Sea World – Sea World/Aquatica/ AND BUSCH GARDENS LENGTH OF STAY.
Notice for all of these tickets, you NEVER print individual tickets to any of the parks, including Wet ‘n Wild.
Please call a lead or manager if you are unsure of what to print or if you have questions. Thanks!

CIRQUE SHOW TIME CHANGES
Effective 9/3 and for the next couple of months, on THURSDAYS there will be ONLY 1 SHOW AT 6 PM. Also, La Nouba will be DARK from 9/20-9/28.

We continue to have problems with guests getting the wrong tickets, particularly with Universal Studios. PLEASE read each ticket OUT LOUD to the guest and review them on the receipt as well.

BANKS IN POS
For the new POS software, when you enter the starting bank, you must put the QUANTITY of each type of bill. If you don’t have any of a particular type of bill, you must enter “0” for it to be accurate.

September 4, 2015 – Volume 24.35 – READ EACH TICKET OUT LOUD TO THE GUEST!

Believe it or not, we STILL have mistakes being made with guests getting the wrong tickets. Most of the errors are with Universal, where a guest is charged for BASE tickets and is given Park-to-Park tickets, or in gifting where the guest is supposed to get the 7 Day PTP, but they are given 7 Day PTP with Wet ‘n Wild. Please guys, as you hand them over READ the tickets OUT LOUD to the guest and review the POS receipt with them AT THE SAME TIME. This will allow you to catch any mistakes BEFORE the guest leaves your desk. Also, you MUST match up all tickets on your POS Product Sales Report with EACH attraction’s EOD report. We still have extra tickets printed, especially with Universal and Wet ‘n Wild. You MUST WAIT 20 – 30 seconds for the tickets to pop up on your screen. DO NOT click “submit” again or this will duplicate the tickets. If you print duplicate tickets, you MUST run a “Detail Report” and using the Visual ID’s, return the first set of tickets.

Logo_Disney-TyphoonLagoon[1]DISNEY WATER PARK TICKETS
We now have re-distributed the “seasonal” tickets, which are $5 cheaper, are VALID until 5/28/16, and DO allow for Water Park Hopping. The ONLY locations that should have tickets that do NOT allow Water Park Hopping (the “OR“ tickets) are the Diamond locations. FYI – Disney does NOT have a bus running between the two water parks. There is not enough demand to warrant the buses running.

CIRQUE SHOW TIME CHANGES
Effective 9/3 and for the next couple of months, on THURSDAYS there will be ONLY 1 SHOW AT 6 PM. Also, La Nouba will be DARK from 9/20-9/28. Please make a note of this and continue to suggest Blue Man Group during this time.

LEGOLAND CLOSED TUESDAYS & WEDNESDAYS
Please don’t forget that Legoland is now closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and the water park is now ONLY OPEN ON THE WEEKENDS. Be sure to check all of the attraction times when arriving to work.

LABOR DAY NIGHTLIFE INCENTIVE!                                                                                                          Now thru Labor Day you can discount all shows tickets – WITH THE EXCEPTION OF CIRQUEup to 20% off. Sell a minimum of 10 from Aug 30- Sept 7 and receive double commission retro from the 1st one you sold. Easy Money! Get the brochures out and keep recommending all of the awesome shows Orlando has to offer.  With the parks closing early, this is the perfect time to recommend Dinner Shows and Blue Man Group!

Sea WorldSAVE THE DATE – NEXT MANDATORY MEETING 9/23 AT SEA WORLD                                                VS Media is having a Trade Show at Sea World on Wednesday, September 23rd.  Since we would like all of you to attend and most of you will be there anyway, we will be holding our next MANDATORY MEETING on the same day at Sea World.  Please mark it on your calendars and make plans to attend.  More details will be coming.

The next home match is Sunday, 9/13 at 7:00 pm against Sporting KC. You may wear your Orlando City shirts on Sunday, or Saturday if you are off on Sunday. Call Marc 407-506-7692

REFERRALS – PASS OUT COUPONS
Again, our APPROVED referral partner should have their coupons passed out to every guest. Use these as a tool to get people to come to your desk and create “welcome” packages for your guests. If you are unsure of who is approved, please look at the list on the AGS homepage. Remember, we will be monitoring and shopping our desks for adherence to these policies and anyone passing out referral cards for unapproved vendors will be reprimanded and/or terminated.

PROFESSIONALISM AT DESKS
We treat all of you as professionals and we expect you to act that way. This means being attentive to guests! You should be “ready to assist” and your body should convey this with good posture, a smile and being on the guest’s level when they approach the desk. Personal use of cell phones is prohibited while working unless it is an emergency. Any phone calls should only be related to business, especially when a guest approaches your desk. We cannot have employees (or friends) that are off the clock visiting other employees. If someone is giving you a ride or waiting for you, they must wait outside or in their car and not be hanging out at the desk and distracting you. While working, you must be focused on your job and taking care of the guests.

TARDINESS
Some of you are slipping in to bad habits and showing up 20 – 30 minutes late. We are getting back to tracking this and documenting anyone more than 7 minutes late. We feel that 7 minutes is very generous and enough of a grace period.

VACATIONS – SEPTEMBER
We have reached our limit for the number of people that can be out for vacation in September, and we are very near closing out all day off requests for September. It’s great that all of you want this slow time off, but we still have to staff our desks. Thanks

RENTAL CARS – DOLLAR/THRIFTY
Dollar/Thrifty is our FIRST choice for rental cars. Action and Enterprise are also approved as back-ups. If any other company approaches you and offers you cash commissions, do not accept it. We have rental car shoppers checking on this and anyone not following the proper procedures will be terminated. Be sure to create vouchers in the POS for all rental car reservations and send a copy to the office so we can be sure you get paid.

DISNEY FLORIDA RESIDENT TICKETS
Click on the picture at the bottom of the AGS Homepage. You want to only offer the 3 and 4 Day tickets. Also offer the Hopper and the Water Park Fun & More Option. They are VALID for a 6 month period and have block out dates from 12/17 – 1/1/16. Make sure you put in all of the guest’s information, including their credit card information. We DO NOT charge the card – DISNEY CHARGES THE CARD! Make sure when you print the confirmation page you print 2 COPIES. Write your name on 1 and send it in with your deposit and give the guest the other.

BANKS IN POS
For the new POS software, when you enter the starting bank, you must put the QUANTITY of each type of bill.

August 28, 2015 – Volume 24.34 – GO ABOVE AND BEYOND FOR EACH GUEST!

We feel that the majority of you are great employees and embody the attitude of “Going above and beyond for every guest”. When we acquire new properties, we tell the GM’s of the hotels that this is our core value and our staff will bend over backwards to make sure the guest is taken care of. So it’s very embarrassing when we get guests that say “the AGS employee was looking at stuff on the computer and not interested in helping me”. This CANNOT happen and will not be tolerated. If any guests are in the lobby, you must be ATTENTIVE! Give a pleasant greeting, engage with them, and NEVER tell a guest “I’m sorry, I can’t help you” or “I don’t know”. You are there TO KNOW, so you need to FIND OUT THE ANSWERS to any questions a guest has. This can be done by using Google, or calling a lead or a manager. We want our staff to be the BEST part of any hotel and to get great comments. If a guest wants to leave a good comment for your service, encourage them to post it on Trip Advisor for your hotel or on the All Guest Services Facebook page!

Sea WorldSEA WORLD INCENTIVE
Congratulations to Luis, Vianney, Leah, George, Karen, Jon G., and Carlos for reaching their minimum and getting DOUBLE commissions! Don’t forget to always try to upgrade your Sea World sales by adding Aquatica and Busch Gardens!

FLU CIRCULATING
It seems that the flu or some kind of sickness is circulation through the company – particularly on the gifting team. Please be sure to wipe down your areas with Clorox wipes or alcohol swabs. Get plenty of rest and drink plenty of fluids. Procedures for calling in sick – There is to be ABSOLUTELY NO TEXTING, E-MAILS OR VOICEMAILS. Any time you are sick and can’t make it in for a shift, you MUST call and physically TALK to a manager. Don’t wait till the last minute! Give us as much notice as possible.orlandocity

The next home match is Saturday, 8/29 at 7:30 pm against the Chicago Fire. You may wear your Orlando City shirts on Saturday, or Friday if you are off on Saturday. Call Marc 407-506-7692

PRICE MATCHES
Please DO NOT ever turn down a sale for a price match without first calling a manager. Many times, we CAN HONOR certain discounts and match online pricing from the attractions themselves. For example, the I-Drive 360 attractions are offering a $10 discount online. Keep in mind that any time the tickets are purchased online, the guest has to RESERVE a time, while our tickets are always given FIRST AVAILABLE access. But if a guest absolutely wants the $10 discount, yes, we can honor it. But please call a lead or a manager FIRST and never turn down a sale until after you call to see if we can honor it.

DISNEY FLORIDA RESIDENT TICKETS
Once again it’s Florida Resident time. We have put the link at the bottom of the AGS Homepage. Just click on the picture that says “Florida Residents Make Your Vacation Wishes Come True” and it will take you to the page.

For example if you have 3 – $20’s, enter “3”. If there are none, enter “0”. If you don’t do this, your cash will be off.

NO PERSONAL USE OF COMPUTERS
Please do NOT use the computers for Facebook, YouTube videos or any other non-business related uses. Not only do you run the risk of downloading a virus, but many of our locations have LIMITED data usage on the internet. When you do this, you use the data and it costs us more.

CHECK WEATHER – PARK HOURS DAILY                                                                                                    Please make sure you are giving your guests accurate weather information and park hours on a daily basis.  This should be part of your daily routine after you get settled in at your location.  As we go into the slower time, the parks will be closing earlier and earlier.  Also, starting September 8th, LEGOLAND WILL BE GOING BACK TO CLOSING ON TUESDAYS AND WEDNESDAYS, AND THE WATER PARK WILL ONLY BE OPEN ON THE WEEKENDS!  So please make sure you check all park hours DAILY!

PRICE MATS
All locations should now have updated price mats. The prices are now correct! Please display AND USE them while working. This will be monitored.

3 DAY TOUCH OF MAGICS
We have put a limited supply of 3 Day TOMS at Celebration Suites. If you are at another location, please check to see if they are available before selling them. Call the runner or a manager to have them transferred to you.

SEA WORLD HOSPITALITY PERKS
Everyone is signed up for Sea World Perks. If you haven’t logged in, call a lead for instructions on how to do so.

BE A “HOTEL AMBASSADOR”
We need all of you to get out from BEHIND THE DESK and greet people in the lobby! Introduce yourself as the Concierge, SMILE, pass out stickers to the kids, tell the guests you have discount shopping and restaurant cards and come over to your desk if they have questions.

Employee Notes: Happy Birthday to Marc Tipton on 8/31!

August 21, 2015 – Volume 24.33 – READ EACH TICKET OUT LOUD TO THE GUEST!

Guys, PLEASE!!!!!! We continue to have guests getting the wrong tickets! How many times do we have to talk about this? Just this week we had a guest that paid for 2 Day PTP Universal tickets and got 1 Day Base tickets, and another guest that paid for Disney Hopper tickets and got base tickets. You guys have no idea how frustrating this is and how tired we get of guests YELLING at us for your mistakes. All of this could be avoided if you READ EACH TICKET OUT LOUD TO THE GUEST AS YOU HAND THEM OVER!! How hard is this? What will it take? From now on, we are going to let the guest talk to the EMPLOYEE who made the mistake and let them be yelled at, instead of the managers. Maybe that will get you guys to follow the correct procedures! Please read each ticket OUT LOUD to the guest and each ticket on the Disney Confirmation page!

Sea WorldSEA WORLD INCENTIVE – SELL!
From 8/20 – 8/23, commission on all Sea World products WILL BE DOUBLED! Don’t forget if anyone asks for Sea World, tell them our Weekday price is $27 off the gate price. We can also add Aquatica for only $2 over the gate price, so they can get one day each of Sea World and Aquatica for only $99. Then for an additional $20, they can also get Busch Gardens! This is a $132 savings over the gate prices! Anyone receiving a reprimand will be disqualified from the incentive.

DOLLAR/THRIFTY
For any rental car inquiries, you MUST use Dollar/Thrifty FIRST. They give us higher commissions to be their primary company. If they are sold out or if you have an underage driver, you can then use Action or Enterprise. A voucher must be created for ALL rental car reservations. Please put rental cars in the POS in Category 23. Fill in all information including the guest’s name, the company you are using, the reservation number, rental dates and amount quoted. Be sure to turn in a copy of the voucher so we can track it and make sure it gets paid.orlandocity

ORLANDO CITY TICKETS
The next home match is Saturday, 8/29 at 7:30 pm against the Chicago Fire. You may wear your Orlando City shirts on Saturday, or Friday if you are off on Saturday. Call Marc 407-506-7692

GOLF COURSE REFERRALS – ONLY
We now only have TWO Golf Courses to refer to: Falcon’s Fire and Shingle Creek. Please be sure to refer any of your guest’s asking about golf to these 2 golf courses. Make a tee time for them and be sure to give them a referral card.

LEGOLAND TICKET MISTAKES
Mistakes are still being made with BOGO’s. Again, for BOGO’s, the number of Adult tickets sold must EQUAL the number of free children. If you enter ONE BOGO in the POS, you must go to the Legoland GIFTING store and print ONE Adult and ONE FREE CHILD. If you have 2 Adults and 1 Child, you must go in the POS and sell ONE ADULT regular Legoland and ONE BOGO. Then you would print the ONE ADULT and the ONE FREE CHILD in the Gifting Store and the ONE EXTRA ADULT in the Guest Services Store. If you are unsure of how to do this, CALL A LEAD!

BE A “HOTEL AMBASSADOR”
During the slower time, it will be especially critical for all of you to get out from BEHIND THE DESK and greet people in the lobby! Introduce yourself as the Concierge, SMILE, pass out stickers to the kids, tell the guests you have discount shopping and restaurant cards and come over to your desk if they have questions. Try it! You will see your sales increase and we already see better sales in the employees that already do this!

BUDGET YOUR MONEY
With summer ending, September is one of our slower months. Please BUDGET YOUR MONEY! Many of you had a really good check this week and it may be your last for a while, so please budget accordingly.

COUNTERFEIT $100’S
Please make sure you are using the counterfeit pens on all $100 bills. If the mark is BLACK, it’s not good – yellowish is OK. If it is an OLD bill, make sure you hold it up to the light and check for the watermark on the right and the embedded strip on the left. Also check the texture. If it feels too smooth, do not accept it. We cannot continue to take these losses so if you accept a bill and do not follow these procedures, we have no choice but to charge you back.

ORLANDO EYE HOTLINE
The Orlando Eye now has an operational hotline – 407-270-8644. This is the number you can call to make sure it’s up.

UPDATE ON LEADS
Congratulations to Carlos and Dimary who have been promoted to a lead position! Here are our current leads and their specialties: Carlos, Dimary, Rolando – Gifting; Erika – PM Lead; Jon G. – IT; Rafael, Daniel – General.  All leads are available to answer any questions and book Cirque and Blue Man Group.  Please check the When to Work Bulletin Board weekly to see their schedules.
